ha ha ha...actually a couple of residents already got 911's. Most of these guys now want glam cars like Lambo's and Ferrari's, although used ones.

What the hell is this, a pissing contest???
Really??? I don't need a car to make me who I am.
From the 12 year old kid who made it, to the geek who's now a doctor or lawyer etc,
Or the illegal who has a R15, bullet proof vest and rpg..
We all have one thing in common;
We love BMWs and .50cal..with scope.......ohh sorry that's just me!!
Sorry I have an accent!!

That's fabulous that you're doing so well with your life, and not to be rude, but you're the one being ignorant if you don't realize that you're the exception to the rule. The average 19 year old driving their m3 around town most likely didn't earn it like you did. From reading through this thread it appears that a lot of young m3post members have worked their tails off and are reaping the rewards (kudos to you all), but please remember that the m3post distribution is most likely no where near indicative of the true population distribution.

I understand that my case is rare and I am extremely fortunate to be where I am, however it is rude for others (not you) to just make assumptions of the younger populace and their ability to afford higher end vehicles. I know it is more of a rarity but the possibility is still there.

Agreed - just because it's not common doesn't mean it's not possible. Most likely they're just jealous of your success at a young age...

Who cares whether you're 19, 34, 47, or 84 - be thankful for whatever it is you have and most importantly remember to sit back sometimes and just enjoy life in good health as many people aren't even afforded that!

are... from my rather small window of experience, is really just a #

I'm 4 years younger than my brother, and have much less street experience than him, but I have more money in my account today than he has had his entire life combined (I know this for a fact since I manage my entire family's finances).
I am also fortunate enough to be able to help my mother pay off her loans and help her with a car.

But then you have the other teenagers/early 20s who rely solely on their parents, and that isn't a bad thing.
I rely on them too for shelter
With the expenses I had living on my own during freshman year of college and sophomore year in Japan, it would have been near impossible to afford a M3.

Those of us who have parents who are glad to keep you at home are very blessed.
I know of friends who have to leave their homes at the age of 18 since they're parents no longer want to support them.
I am wayyyyy to young to be a father, but I hope that, when my child one day becomes an adult, I'll have the finances and the love to keep him/her home so as long as possible.

We really need to be grateful; we buy rims that cost more than most of the cars on the road...
and then people by s/c kits that can buy you a used e46 M3, a car MANY MANY would love to own at any age...

Not that I am doubting you but 8 figures is insane. If you started with a portfolio of $5K (which is a lot of money to have at 15) and doubled it every year (which would probably make you one of the best traders on earth) you would still only have about $5M after 10 years.

Unless you are referring to a job in which you manage an 8 figure fund...still nuts at 19.

With some success, GG22 probably enticed others to join his fund, or others asked to join the fund, or both. GG22 Madoff, anyone? lulz

Oh I hate being honest!

I am at that point in life where I have the money to do what I want but am burdened by too many years of responsibility to want any more "toys". I was thinking about getting an R8 or Gallardo, but then I thought to myself, "and what are you going to do with the R8?" It would be way cool to drive the R8 but am I really going to go to Fry's or Whole Foods in an R8 and then realize I can't even put my new computer or 5 bags of food in the trunk? I have other cars that I could use for shopping and the occasional trip out with the family (my kids drive so I don't often have to go anywhere with them anymore), but I also have a 2 seat convertible and I know how rarely I drive that (never).

I see the M3 as a nearly as good driver as a true supercar but without the ridiculously impractical limitations of 2 seats and almost no trunk. I now that the R8 V-10 would be faster and handle better but only a little, and I really wouldn't drive the R8 everyday like I would the M3.

I am 50 with two children. I own a high tech company and can afford whatever I want but I am buying an M3 sedan to replace my Audi A6 (which replaced my 740il). If makes any difference, I wish I was younger!

The 8 figures comes from one client. I am extremely fortunate to be where I am today, and I still have so much to learn, I hope to be a hedge fund manager or work on WS when I'm older.

How did you figure me out? haha. I'm more of an aggressive growth seeking investor but I consider my trades to be moderate on the risk scale. I feel terrible for the Madoff family, even though his sons most likely knew about the scandal the whole time, still sad.

Don't tell me, you promise consistent 15% returns regardless of prevailing economic conditions too? lulz
