I have personal experience that no stock 6.1-equipped vehicle is faster than an M3 from a stop, roll, whatever. Haven't had a run-in with a 6.4 yet but they're probably a good match.

The 5-speed auto has absolutely terrible gearing for high speeds. Once an older one gets into 4th gear at ~115mph an M3 is going to pull very hard on it. The new motor might have the ass to drag that gear but the old ones fall on their faces. Even the new ones are a full 6 seconds slower from 0 to 150mph than an M3, but only about half a second slower to 100. The M3 punches waaaay above its weight class at high speeds.

They're cool cars, if all the imports disappeared tomorrow I'd be a MOPAR guy. Wish they hadn't made the new GC SRT8 so much heavier but that's easy enough to fix with a few bolt-ons

Considering a lightly tuned 335 smokes the m3, it makes it about as fast as our cars

The new Mopar gets 470 HP, and according to C & D, is capable of a 12.8 second, 113 MPH quarter mile. Still a hair off C & D's latest 6-speed M3, but close enough to perhaps make it a driver's race.

M3 auto beats up on the Mopar.

The bottom line answer is if you want to go really fast in a straight line - American cars always got your best bang for the buck.

I hear they are going to finally replace the 5 speed auto with an 8 speed for next model year. I'm sure that'll help times a bit. Although it's too big of a car for my taste I think the updated 300C is a pretty nice looking car.
