Are these the same wheels on the GTS? They look different.
Not feeling the CF pieces from the pics. Gotta see them in person.

Why is it bad? it reduces emmissions and increases MPGs!

Question ZCP wheel sizes - ?

I like the wheels but does that mean the ZCP will come with 19x9 wheels on the front and rear? I thought it was confirmed that the rears were 19x10.

The add-on CF bits look to be nicely done and are guaranteed to match the roof I would imagine. I'm still not sure how I feel about them however. The taillights are growing on me but I won't retrofit without a plug and play harness, which probably isn't realistic.

I like the ZCP wheels and springs so far - I'm sure these will be popular retrofits.

That was my first reaction to the pics as well. It does seem higher to the eye. 10mm lower is not much, but it looks different than I imagined.

They look the same, except for the color. I would love to have these painted like the GTS ones.

Love those wheels...

Ordered the competition package largely because I really like the wheels so much better than the other 19"s. The package is obviously mostly just cosmetic. I could actually live without the 1 cm drop--hopefully I won't hit any curbs as a result, but improved handling can't hurt, though I doubt I'll ever push the car hard enough to really notice the difference. I understand that though the wheels are wider, the tires are the same size, so at least there won't be a further penalty price-wise for new rubber. Don't care much for the rear spoiler. The rear lights are OK, not significantly better than the old--suspect they'll look better when you apply the brakes. Auto Start-Stop function is a surprise. Will be interested to see if we really get it in US. I am anxious to see how it works, but if it can be turned off, I'm fine with it. It would be nice if it really did improve gas mileage significantly.

CF parts - Meh...

yeah I don't like that
wouldn't that put additional wear on your engine?

If it is offered on US M3's, it sounds like it can be disabled according to post # 8 on the first page. Manufacturers have to meet new mileage and emissions requirements one way or another, sports cars are no exception (see Porsche's 911 hybrid concept). It doesn't seem like it would be a bad thing for regular around town driving.

If not there are still some things I do not like about the M3 LCI:
-No lightweight front seats (BMW Performance)
-No sport exhaust (BMW Performance/ M3 GTS)
-No carbon airbox (BMW Performance/Motorsport)
-No Alcantara
-No LED blinkers and corona rings
I believe the color is Monte Carlo Blue, but not 100% sure I could be wrong.

I think I like the spoiler, need more pictures of it. Not feeling the splitters at all.

I hope there's a reasonable price on people who want to upgrade their EDC programming to the ZCP

We don't know for sure yet. This press release is the International Version, so the US might not see this start/stop feature.

Yes, it can be deactivated via a button found in the center console (between the heated seat buttons in pre 2010 cars).

Best regards,
south

Auto start stop

I have heard that leaving an automatic BMW in Sport will also disable the start stop.

Start stop is not bad - from my experience the engine is restarted as soon as you take your foot off the brake - before you can even get it on the accelerator pedal. If you drive an automatic with both feet then you might be in trouble!

Auto start stop will take a dent out of the super-low city MPG on an M3 without making the car any slower.

Cheers!

I read somewhere that the EPA does not use the Start/Stop feature in their testing and calculations yet...

Splitters look weak compared to aftermarket options

Rear spoiler looks OK but CSL trunk looks better

Wheels look WAY too small, like 16"

Car sits awfully high for being 10mm lower

Stop/start feature = lame and hard on the engine
