Since I've done my research here on this forum I will also post my results. Bought directly from ESS and shipped to my place in europe. All went well, when I informed the new VT1-550 was just out for my E92 M3. Installed last week, tested on the dyno today. E92 M3 2008 manual gearbox with our local Shell Vpower 98RON and OEM exhaust with first cats deleted.
605hp, 562nm. 525 whp. One happy customer, very nice feedback and correct shipping. Keep up the good work ESS! |

Had my ESS VT1 kit installed this week. It looks and runs great. I would like to put the ESS trunk badge on my car. Can you tell me where I can get one ?

Hey Roman,
I have seen on the forum a bunch of dyno pulls of the VT-1 535, they put down about 475 wheel HP. I believe this was at EAS so he was running 91. On 93, with the primaries deleted what kind of WHP and WTQ does the VT1 550 put down. Will I be at 500 WHP? |

We have seen the VT1 hit 500 whp on a dynojet dyno but it really depends on the car as some tend to be slighlty stronger than others. It also depends on the quality of the fuel used and testing conditions.

What kit would you recommend for the AZ heat? I blew my head gasket last summer out here flogging my built turbo car in 115* heat and don't want to experience an issue like that with my M.

We do all of our US testing here in AZ each summer. All of the kits perform without issue here during the summer months. Due to the fuel quality limits of 91 octane your options are any kit except the VT2-650 which requires 93 octane.

With the added notion that any of the VT1 systems can be upgraded to higher boost/intercooled configurations (VT2-600/625) if more power is desired.

Don't post much on this forum but now again I want to say that the new VT1-550 for my 6MT is still doing great! Unbelievable power, best mod ever done in my BMW owning career. It's eating up tyres like breakfast every day. Did a full drift-day this saturday and everything remained ok, still pulling strong... It dynoed around 600BHP and you just don't need more! Only test is going to be a hot day at Spa Francorchamps asap, running on semi-slicks 265 front and 295 rear. Bye bye GT3!
Thanks for making this kit ESS! |

That's interesting, do you guys do any cold weather testing? I don't think you'd have as many issues as the hot testing. If anything you may be putting out more power with the colder air...
