When you see lots of M3s at the Nürburgring with GTS wings and start convincing yourself that it won't look ricy on a daily driver/weekend trackcar

When you start thinking of how much stuff costs by how many track tires that money would buy (racing units is the correct term).
When you start a thread in the detail subforum entitled: easiest way to get tire marks off paint. When the UPS driver knows you by name and asks what your times were last weekend. When you call the end of your driveway "turn 1" When you people ask how fast your car goes you say: "I ran a 2:04 at Spring Mountain last weekend." When you check tire temps and pressures in the parking garage at work. When you buy a 40' pusher diesel motorhome so you can sleep in your own bed on track weekends and you can take the dogs with you. [yeah, I did that...and sold it] When you can swap brake pads and tires (and bleed brakes) in less time than it takes your neighbor to check the oil in his SUV. When a $3k set of shocks looks like a necessity.

.....when you only use mirrors and don't bother to turn your head to check your blind spot changing lanes because you forget you are not wearing your Hans.
Then stare down the shmoe in the MB you almost hit like it was his fault....

Guilty of that. I forgot that I could turn my head for a full day after a NASA event a couple of years ago. Not so good on the street.

... when, as you're getting off the freeway on the way home from a track, you stick your left arm out the window and raise a fist.

You spend many hours applying TrakTape and find out you can achieve the same results in 10 minutes with Goof-Off the day after you've come home...

You go to a car show and spend a noteable amount of time wondering if your helmet would fit under the roof and how difficult it would be to bolt in a quick fit harness (if available).
Including the SUVs No lie...I caught myself doing this at the CT Car Show yesterday...

I was just looking, I was musing about the Camaro 1LE out next year with all the ZL1 bits on, but I just about fit my melon in without a helmet, so there is no chance with one on. I don't fit in an CTS-V coupe either. I am going to get a winter car this year, so that let's me entertain less practical options for the spring. I am seeing a lot of Boss 302s do well at the track, so that is an option too

You compile a springtime pre-track checklist and it becomes as long as a grocery list:
Maybe I should just rent karts at GPNY instead...
