check engine light driving me crazy
My Brothers check engine light comes on with no other problems. Car runs perfect with the light on. He has taken it in two times already. First time they replaced the "passanger side air valve" and second time just a reset. Each time the light returned within a week. He is getting a bit fed up and was wondering if anyone else has corrected this problem. I know there is a problem with some idle control valves, but this is usually associated with reduced power which he does not have. Any ideas before he goes in for the third time?

i would assume some kind of faulty sensor on passenger side....if it was idle valve he know it would be that.

Have the battery checked for low amperage. If the amperage is too low the electrical system starts shutting down systems to make sure the engine will run fine. The "check engine" light will be triggered when that happens.
Do you use the car a lot? Cheers. |

Yah..we both use our M3's as daily drivers. I have not had any problems with mine. I guess it just gets annoying...like at what point do they call a master tech in to look at it? or at least make a call to BMW NA or Germany.

I had the same problem with my C63. I lemoned it eventually. Check your local lemon laws. If you have to take it in a couple more times for the same problem you will have a case.
