Sold my E90 M3.. :(

This is a very sad day. This has been probably my favorite car I've ever had.

The guy hasn't come to get it yet but I'm 99% sure it's a done deal. Gonna miss it so much but it's time for me to move one. not sure if I'm gonna replace it right away, but I'm thinking Cayman S will be next..... While a cayman S will be great, it will be a downgrade.

Bah don't worry it's not a downgrade...it's just a different car. A tad Slower but it will handle better
As much as I like cars I can't get emotionally attached to one cause they eventually have to go.

I wouldn't consider it a downgrade either. Post pics of the new Cayman S when you get it!

It's 2 very different cars.
one is all around practical sport car and the other one is purposefully built single focused sports car.

I love both cars so you'll be happy since you already experienced M3.
Life is too short to drive all the good cars.

Yup, you're going to find a more pure sports car in the Cayman S. The M3 has more practicality while having sports car performance at the same time.

Don't worry man. I was literally in tears in front of my wife when I sold my Evo IX MR. I was so damn close to canceling the deal even when the buyer was ready to buy the car at $27,245 with a cashiers check ready in his hand.

If I hadn't sold my Evo, I wouldn't be in my M3 today.

I own an 09 E92, and love it. I have tracked it 6 weekends this year. It is a testament to how good the car is that it can be an everyday driver, and perform like it does on the track. I also just purchased an 06 Cayman S, after driving one on the track. Two different cars. I agree the Cayman is a true sports car while the E92 is a sport coupe. They are both great machines, but on the track the cayman is just a little more fun, around town, or on trips the M is no comparison, beats the Cayman hands down.

Want to free up a little capital, get a little money back in the market. Maybe use it to invest in property. We'll see.

And now she won't let you drive it. Nah, j/k but at first it sounded like you sold it to your wife.

As a matter of interest, how old is the M3 and what was the purchase price?

My M3 is 1 year old (Jun '08 built) and I bought it new for E100k. From comparable recent sales, this car is now worth cE78k now i.e. 1y depreciation is c22%.

Just trying to compare what is the 1st year depriciation in the US.

You selling it cheap. You'll love the CS. I had one before, it's a go kart car. Not as quick as the M but equally fun.

Have already had a 2002 911 C4S and a 911 Turbo. Decided on the M3 OVER a 2006 911 CS. Besides, I drove a Cayman S and liked it WAY more than the 911 but not more than the M3.

Hmm. Fair enough. Enjoy the CS then. You'll probably be back for more M Power with the turbo M3 coming in a few years =p though.
