Oem Exhaust Drone
Hey guys, I just got the exhaust done. Sounds great! Gives a great growl to the car, except I just feel as if there's a bit drone even just cruising around. Around 40 I have to tap the gas peddle somewhat lightly to not hear it but if I put my foot down a bit you can start hearing a lot of that drone. I don't know if that's the same case with you guys or not. Maybe I just have a heavy foot haha.

I had the ACM previously with DCT and never had an issue with drone.

Well I haven't noticed anything similar except for knowing the exhaust does drone around 2k-2.4k naturally. Never noticed anything extra and I'm running test pipes also.

My OEM exhaust drones at 2000 rpm in the higher gears. It's a very narrow band, though, easily overcome by shifting to a lower gear to raise the revs. I wish my M3 sounded more like my old Audi RS4, though - no drone whatsoever, and a mean, rich rumble when on the throttle!

I can control the drone. If i am on the highway and cruise in 6th gear instead of 7th gear. the RPM stay little higher, and believe it or not the drone is 100% gone.
I only do this when i have other people in the car, personally doesn't bug me. |

I replaced only one pipe on each side and mine sounds fine. Not as loud as straight through design but also no drone. |

My MPE drones at just around 3000 rpm at a steady cruise. It isn't bad, but definitely a steady hum. It isn't difficult to avoid.

3,000rpm in 7th seems most noticeable but pretty bearable. I got to test first hand last week doing road trip from NYC to Williamsburg, VA and back My more pressing issue was the thule cargo rack that was bloody loud >50mph...

My PM won't send for some reason but here's my reply! Haha reply back in a PM idk why my message wouldn't send .. But I have the same feeling about the corvettes! One day I think they're exotic looking and the next it just looks like an everyday vet to me. I've only seen like 4 c7s around my area right now so I haven't really been like a huge judge on them but if I get a c7 it has to be a zo6 but Deff not brand new. Way too much $$. Probably would wait a year or 2 after release. The gtr I've loved since a kid.. Especially the R34. I wouldn't get it for the insane speed I'm just in love with it.. But a lot of people made me lose my love for it. The interior and the sound system and I want an a manual. I'm honestly lost on what I want haha. The new Camaros coming out in the future look dope tho. Hbu? What you looking for. I'm somewhat interested in a carrera s

OEM exhaust without any mods, 100% stock, has some drone under certain conditions.
People saying they never had any.. makes me wonder.

Yeahhhh.....I remember my stock set-up had drone around 2K RPM, and had to shift out of it in city driving. Now I have a Megan and it does the same thing in the same RPM band but somewhat louder. Makes me wonder if it's even worth going back to stock given that I have sensitive hearing and likely ALL exhaust set-ups will drone, unless the car gets muted completely like my 328i.
