being reported by another driver? in BC

Hi,
yesterday i flew from Edmonton to Vancouver to pick up my car. on the way back, about 1/2 hour out of Vancouver on Hwy 1 East, this young female driver , is driving at barely the speed limit on the left lane, no vehicles on the right lane for a good 3-400 m...
i followed her for a bit, then moved to the right lane and slightly accelerated to pass her... then she decides to speed up ! my mistake? well, i'm a guy in a sports car so i think "Screw you" and gun it i didn't cut her off per say, as there was plenty of room between us when i moved back to the left lane...
then i see her (in my mirror) grabbing her cell phone, pointing at me... not knowing what to do or what not to do, i slowed down and moved back to the right lane... she passes me, showing me her cell phone, with a big smile on her face, pointing at me and giving me the finger !!! so i follow her for a bit (not too close, just enough to read her license plate), she's speeding up to like 140-150... then moved back to the right lane for her exit, i pass her and she gives me the finger again !! well, anyway, i figure she reported me to 911, what happens next? I am from AB, does that change anything? do you get a ticket every time you're reported? a warning?

She is just threatening you. At worst you will get a letter saying you have been observed exibiting dangerous driving, bla, bla, bla.

She would have to explain, too, and that point it becomes you said, she said...

i thought the same, as it would be a huge chaos if anyone could report any driver and get them fined... we'll see

All these things are you words against hers. I don't see how these thing can work. So if someone pissed me off on the road even though they're not speeding I can just call them in for speeding. How the hell can it work!? Maybe they'll come and get you if you have say 100 reports on you

I had a friend in a similar situation......cops called him, asked him his side of the story, and that was where it ended.

Not to worry, no proof.

If she called the police while driving she just exposed herself to a ticket for driving while talking on her cell phone in BC anyway.

No sales tax in AB and no hockey team. We have QST and our team is in the conference final.

I wouldn't worry too much. I can call the cops and "report" something too about a driver. Nothing generally happens. Probably 100s of calls like this are made in every city.

i have her license plate, so if i do hear from the cops, i'll just randomly report her around the same time / location every other day until she gets tired of it...
as for the comment "let the idiot go" that's what i did... i just followed her for a bit (not aggressively or anything) just to try to understand what was going on... i'm not into road rage, that sh** can get really ugly because you never know who you have to deal with... the guy / girl might be crazy, carry a gun or what not, you never know...
i'm not really worried anymore after reading that, thanks guys !

AFAIK, you have to be caught in the act when it comes to those sorts of things, meaning IF 911 dispatched a cop after her call and you got pulled over you might have had something to worry about, but since you didn't you shouldnt have anything to worry about

happened to me last year....some fat bitch in a Ford SUV eating a big mac said I refused to allow her to merge and then cut her off....when the cops called, i laughed and told him if she wasnt so busy stuffin her face, she would of realized she had plenty of space to merge into the lane....cop laughed...that was it!
