M3 exhaust note with x pipe and ipe exhaust

Today meet up with friends and theres a guy driving an F430 just stop by randomly and chat for a while. My friend drives an e90 M3 with x pipe and ipe exhaust. When he was leaving the parking with the f430, both WOT and the m3 was obviously louder. Im amazed how loud can an m3 be

Just imagine if the F430 had an aftermarket exhaust... I'm guessing it did not.

my 325i with headers, cams, and straight pipes was louder than any m3 I've ever heard. I think your surprised out how loud an I.C.E can be

Mine does need to be more loud. OEM exhaust mod, here I come!

To me "exhaust note" is the sound or the tone, and loudness is completely separate.
