I would install them if they only produced 5-10hp because I'm a car nut that loves to work on his own car. I think trying to install these would be a really fun project, to each his own...I'm not scared to get my hands dirty!

You have to bare in mind - the stock headers on the S65 are radical in design from the very beginning. Similar to back in the day when they made headers for the S38 engine - totally amazing equal length headers with properly designed merge collectors.
All of these headers by design are exact replicas of the OEM headers. Even the diameter looks similar and the merge collector certainly is nowhere near as good as stock. This is a proper merge collector: The nicest header seen so far is from Amuse : Check out the merge collector! This header is an absolute work of art. The problem is this, it's not even worth considering any of these headers without actually knowing if they actually add power or not. If a larger diameter stock version does add power with a true merge collector then you will be looking at around $2500-$3000 for a set. Who will test though?? |

no way these headers would get you +40whp. Maybe 10-15whp...and that's at the very top. I'd be interested in knowing what the weight savings are over the stock pieces. That's another advantage that folks don't think about. Not unless you're looking to drop total weight off the car with lots of other bits.

And agree with previous post^. 40whp is out of the question.

Has anyone tried these yet at all?
I can't find the product on the schmeidmann site anymore. M24 are still for sale but are still $3000+ I'm looking at fitting these with a positive displacement TVS supercharger from Harrop. I am expecting to get at least 20hp.

F/I will almost always benefit from exhaust manifold improvements. The harrop kit will enjoy more efficient scavenging than a naturally agitated S65.
FWIW: The Gintani Stage 3.5 YSI car with the tentative WHP record has larger custom headers.
