I'm so devastated right now..

I was parked at restaurant Saturday night and when I left the place around 2am, I didn't notice anything wrong with my car because it was dark!

The next morning I wake up to go to the gym, and I notice this shit!!!

What f*****g NO THOUGHT had the balls to hit my car and not even leave a sorry note, let alone insurance info!

UGH, I honestly despise people who do stuff like this

Who knows?....guy may have been drunk and not even noticed. In general, I have noticed that bad shit happens in the wee hours of the morning. I try not to be out then. Good thing is that this is an easy fix.

Sorry to see that

Restaurants often have security cameras, and I'm sure there will be some paint transfer from the perp's car to yours.

A little investigation on your part might pay off.

Good luck and keep us posted.

$1 million says it was someone in a Japanese car, most likely a Toyota. They've all got that infamous dent on their rear bumper.

My worst nightmare. Even when i park way out in the middle of nowhere I'm worried about it. Lately, I've been trying to park not so far out to attract attention but not in the middle of all the commotion. Who knows if this strategy will work.

Yeah this is an easy fix. Take a heat gun, and find a way to snake inside of the bumper cover to pop it back out. The scuff needs to be touched up and buffed. Obviously for a 100% job go to a body shop.

The thing that sucks about investigating is seldom do businesses want to get involved with disputes that don't concern them directly, even if it happened on their property.

Had two instances of this:
One where my car back in college (G35) was vandalized by drunk kids shooting air soft guns at my apt. complex that had a contract with my university & housed students only. One would think they would use a good amount of their resources to protect its students but they refused to release or even review the surveillance video & declined to comment on the issue. Good thing insurance still covered the vandalism.

The other time was not car related but i had my cash voucher stolen from me at a casino table and when i reported it, the security told me they reviewed the footage and can confirm the person that did it, but refused to let me see it or to use it as evidence to press charges. Cops came & basically told me to kick rocks as the only evidence i had was property of the casino. It wasn't a huge sum of money, but it was very disappointing in virtue.

Its a cold world out there. I was still young when both of those events happened, but what it taught me from that point forward is that surveillance cameras (or security measures in general) are out to protect the owners of the property where the cameras are installed, not its visitors, customers, etc. Still worth a try as here are people with goodwill out there, but i wouldn't walk up to the management expecting it.
Good luck.

just get it fixed and don't let that ruin your experience. There's a lot of uncivil and bad tempered drivers on US roads. The majority of drivers would fail driving tests from other developed nations. Unfortunately this country sees driving as a right for all (even though they call it a privilege) when it should be restricted to those who can learn and have demonstrated real skills. It's a political problem. By the way that's also the reason speed limits are so low because they let everyone have a license and have antiquated road civil engineering practices building road exits/ramps and turns that are counter-safe and not optimally designed.

Very true. This is very much a problematic social and political issue in the US.
Elsewhere, in addition to people not seeing driving as a right (since there is efficient public transportation, but that's another topic), drivers license tests are also taken with a manual transmission. Those who are handicapped or otherwise incapable of operating a standard can take the test with an automatic but receive restricted licenses. A full license requires mastering the techniques of the standard & it makes sense since it helps one understand a feel how a car works.

So funny you say that. Here in Ohio every single Camry in the state looks like they've had the corner hit. It's got to be a statistical impossibility but we need to get some scientific research on it. You can win money betting friends...

Someone start a Tumblr on it, dented Toyotas!

Oh yeah, sorry about that OP, but at least it's cosmetic. Document it well and hopefully it won't affect resale. Also add a Camry badge.

That sucks, new bumper cover is about $500 plus prime/paint/install another $350 - $500. That is going to be an expensive dinner for sure.
