gtos are sooo cheap and easy to add horsepower in, it makes people think they are better than everyday drivers.

nobody ever changes out the brakes to handle the extra power, or modify the suspension because its not glamorous enough.

I had a Scion tC modified. It took $15000 to make it to 300 hp with the right add ons. I learned its cheaper just to buy a good car in the first place! and even then i don't act like a TOTAL maniac with no caution for other people's safety!

I wouldn't say GTO's are cheap. They are actually well built cars. Adding mods to GTO's is pretty simple but trying to tune those mods is yet another story. GTO's should not be sold to anyone under 25 years old.

Thats OK with me ... I would hope anybody over 25 would be smart enough not to buy a domestic "sports cars". After test driving all the domestic cars in the sports car/sedan category, I will never buy one until they stop building sub-par cars that just feel like a time machine set 20 years back in automotive engineering.

GTO is not a domestic car -- it's an import from Australia. The land of Mad Max, kangaroos and g'day mate...

If it was a domestic car, it would have been 2 feet longer, had a stick axle, featured even more ridiculous hood scoops/spoilers/decals and only been offered in automatic.

Definitely on my list of cars to own -- in 10 years for < $5000.

I am sure most of us know the GTO is a GM car built in Australia. The point is the car is well built and not a cheap car. To tell you the truth, it is the best GM car I have ever owned.

Yes, but it feels like a domestic car, Uses the same concepts in an engineering standpoint, and looks like a chop shop grand prix. I noticed when I test drove it things like the change holder fit different currency, Abut after test driving one I didn't feel the need to research any longer because I crossed it off my list.

You don't have a clue what you're talking about. Why don't you explain to us about these "concepts in an engineering standpoint" that it shares with domestic cars?

Back to the original post, that was possibly one of the dumbest things I've ever seen on film. I think I'm going to have to go back over to the GTO board and find out exactly who was involved in that supidity. Damn!

I was considering it as well, but it's just a lot bigger car than I needed/wanted. They do drive nice though. I'd take one over a 5 Series any day of the week.

I test drove a 2004 GTO when I was looking for my last car. I ended up going for the 50th anniversary edition Porsche Boxster s because it was just a much better car in every aspect.
