Drone happens right at 3k rpm when you cruise between 70 and 80 on the freeway. And it gets SUPER annoying. You'll see when your exhaust comes in. Have you had an aftermarket exhaust on your M3 yet?

on the eisenmann system whats the difference between LeMans and Perforated tips?

Anyone know the DB rating of the Active Autowerke moving vehicle = ?? db
stationary vehicle = ?? db

Will the Active Autowerke Performance Software void the warranty?

The tips are purely cosmetic and there is no sound difference between the LeMans and Perforated tips. Also both options are 4x83mm round.

Eisenmann Sport level-
moving vehicle = 75 db
stationary vehicle = 92 db at 6.225 1/min

Hopefully Omar@AA can post up the db levels for the AA system.

Pick an exhaust that has adjustable tips like the Vanguard. Easy solution

My bad, you're right. I had a catless exhaust on my Evo, but I forgot the feeling of the drone since I sold it about 6 months ago.

I know what you're talkin' about though.

Reduced drone is a plus, but it wasn't a priority when I was researching several exhausts. In a loud set-up like mine, I'd expect some drone. I'll find out how much when everything's installed.

DINAN game over. black tips, sounds great, no drone, no warranty issues, weighs less, more power, almost the cheapest, and def looks better then any of those

Dinan's exhaust is probably the most conservative & safest option for our M3.

It won't fit everyones taste, but I still think it's a smart choice for the individual who wants to play it safe.

I like this Thread, it has some good old fashioned advice in it.

I have been going through this headache of choosing an exhaust myself. Finding the right exhaust is harder than finding the right woman.

here are my thoughts:

Eisenmann Race: I like the Eisenmann exhausts in general because the build quality looks great and these tips really stand out. the edges look thick and clean. But the only thing not making me go for it yet and feel hesitant is that I really wanna make the read-end look more less crowded than the stock exhaust. and from the photos and videos i have seen.
So to sum it up. Im not convinced that if i wanna go for an exhaust that doesnt improve on looks a alot (tips are an exception..i love them) and also doesn't step up on Sound compared to the stock is worth getting for me since i will be getting the connecting pipes as well.

AA: I love everything about the AA except for these so called tumors. coz i really want something that is tucked in and clean looking. (Powder coating them Back is an option).
Other than that i really like the tone and the build quality from what i have seen in photos and videos.

I also keep seeing people with AA exahusts that are not aligned and its obvious that one of the NCC's is either higher or lower than the other, but this exhausts sounds amazing. its not too loud, not too quite.

Remus Sport: Looks the best out of all of them, Its tucked in nicely and the tips look solid. but then the thought of actually buying something that won't make that much of a huge difference in sound compared to stock kinda gets to me. leaves me confused again.

if i was held at gunpoint and was told to chose one of these three, i would choose the AA and powder coat the the NCC's. Because to me the AA is a really good step up in sound and performance as well. (Also comes with connecting pipes).

Anyone here has a REMUS Sport + Aftermarket X-Pipe ? Any CEL issues ?

I believe this combo would give a really good tone and good looks.

i would say the performance gains quoted are more real then some of the others. AA's only gets the 12hp with there software and with dinans you get another 8hp and 8lb tq. the other mufflers listed just give you a % claim for power.

not only did i feel the dinan was the best looking but felt the sound was the best with no drone but still agressive and no warranty problem. plus when i saw they make a matching midpipe that also doesn't hurt my warranty it was a no brainer for me.

as you said though it is not for everyone, but should be lol jk

Dinan is pretty cool. But i don't feel black tips on SSII runs well. also i feel it doesnt have deepness in it.

I do like it though...its still an option out of many im considering at the moment...what i really like about it is that it sounds genuine and looks different that all the others.

I don't know if you all have seen my buddy Frank's latest comparison vid which has a very good description of the AA vs. ER vs. Dinan vs. Stock.

Here's the link to it: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=303733

what does SSII mean?? sorry if that is a dumb question

i think it is pretty deep but with a high pitch exoctic sound as well. my E39M5 was deep. down low this sounds just like that as my friends say when i pull in there driveways at low rpm they think it is my old M5.

this is what deep sounds like. the M5 was always deep even at higher rpm. this one is deep till about 4k then it sounds exotic, well in my op anyway

(not deep, my old M3)

i will do a video in the same tunnel and area with my new M3 so you can compare them to my E39 M5 with the Dinan. granit the M5 is louder bc i had a SS straight pipe on there with the Dinan and my M3 only has the cat back dinan. i will do a video also when i get my dinan midpipe next week. i am thinking it is gonna sound how my M5 did but a bit less loud bc the dinan mid pipe has resonators and the SS didn't

also you can get the dinan with out the black tips if you don't think it will match your color

good luck with your choice
