Im not sure about that one ...

The GTR is dynoing some huge numbers showing it greatly underated and its 1/4 times and 0-60 isnt that much off Carnage's est of this car.

What's the cost of the ZR-1, $100K?

So 50% more HP for over 100% more price versus a very well equipped, 4LT 08 Vette that has an engine you can cheaply and reliably modify choosing from dozens perhaps hundreds of vendors.

In that case the GT-R is under 30K more than the 335i. Winner is?

Nice work GM!

I like the exterior style additions, the wheels and the interior looks much better than any corvette to date.

However, I do agre with an above post that the plexiglass hodd window looks very odd and makes no sense if the engine is covered in plastic anyways. MAybe its a nod to the Ferarri plexiglass rear/center engines but it just does not look right, especially as a plexi-porthole in the hood

I fixed that last sentence for you.

I'm curious to see what this car can do around the N-ring. And also in the hands of regular drivers. I've read a bunch of reviews on the gtr and most praise the car for how easy it is to drive very fast. I have a feeling a 600 hp 3300 pound car might be a touch harder to drive for most people. I'd love to go for a lapping day and see the GTR and ZR1 go at it. Two very different approaches to high performance car design.

Problem is you wont get a gtr for anywhere near MSRP. I hear most markup is 20-30K.

you think you would get the Z1R for MSRP? most likely not ... it will have about the same mark up the GTR does.

I highly doubt 0-60 in 3.1-3.3...... you need ALOt of grip to get goin that fast. With RWD, my guess is 3.4 or 3.5 at the fastest. Your 1.4 is probably pretty accurate tho.

Grip?? This thing's going to have specially made Michelin PS2's 335/25/20's in the back. If you can't get grip from those then you better just run DR's all the time.

Seeing as how the current Z06 has been clocked at 3.6 0-60 and the ZR1 will have 100 more ponies, 100 more ft/lb of TQ and bigger, much better tires, I don't think 3.1-3.3 is unrealistic at all.

Interesting about the tires.... i didnt know that. All i do know is the ZR-1 is sendings ALOT of torque and ALOT of hp to those two rear wheels. If they can keep tirespin down then i guess you could be correct

I guess GM make the Z06 chevy converette with all N/A. ZR1 with force induction. why ? Why cant they make their ZR1 just N/A engine. That would be a powerful car .. ZR1 with N/A will sent the message to all their completior. We are back. ANyone can put a supercharger system on any car. Same for turbo.. THey should have come out with N/A car with that much of WHP and TOrque.

Personally i m not impress with the ls9 supercharger system on zr1 because it got a supercharger system on it. Im pretty sure with the z06 and plus supercharger. it will make more than the zr1 on both hp and torque. it will be faster than the zr1.

Goodbye reliability...... GM tried doing a S/C on the LS7 for the ZR1. All of the prototypes blew up. Cylinder walls are way too thin for forced induction.
