That's sounds nice and easy is 400whp accurate from running a meth system? Where did you buy it from?

Ususally I would be more concervative with the mods on a expensive engine like this but it seems like ESS has sold a couple of hundreds of their kits without a single engine failure so that's enough to put me in confidence!
If you don't mind me asking what did it cost for the whole set up? And how much power did you get?

I like the trunk mount to get the flammable meth (in concentrations over 50/50 with water) out of the heat of the engine compartment, to not render the washer fluid less effective since I drive year round, and to not tap into the windshield washer nozzle hose. For a max of 50/50, I don't think any of the above matters, but I want to run 75/25. I also don't want to zip tie my PS reservoir to my AC hose or have a relay hanging from something in the middle of the engine compartment, but those are lesser concerns.

With the trunk mount, you have a long line under the car, but I put the meth hose inside fuel or heater hose to help protect it. It does take up some trunk space, but it can be located on a side of the trunk. One or more wires have to be run under the carpet to the trunk and through the firewall to the Procede.

If you read up on meth systems on 135/335, you will learn that there have been a few engine fires from the meth. I don't have all the details or know what to blame, but I am more comfortable with the trunk mount.

I did'nt received it yet, I ordered it last Friday from IND, I went with the ESS VT1-535, I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO PUT THIS IN THE CAR!! It should be installed in about 2 weeks!

here's the link of where I bought it:
http://parts.ind-distribution.com/pr...-535%5E431.php

As for the power, people seem to dyno around 460whp with just the VT1 and it can go up to 480+whp with a catless or HFC set-up! Pretty impressive for the cost! My only mod right now is a Corsa exhaust wich don't give hp and I'll probably leave it as is + the VT1 unless a new test pipe arrives on the market which could give me an other 15-25WHP for around 400-500$ which is to good of a deal to pass on!

Proceed, PWM meth, deleted secondary cats and magnaflow exhaust. Also something i dont think ive mentioned, that number came from back to back runs for 2+ hours. Look at my tq numbers too.

I like the torque bump from the increased ignition timing. Nice gains from just 50/50. These were ideal conditions with low humidity and temps in the 60s. Gains relative to a stock car would be greater with temps in the 90s, when the heat takes a greater toll on power given the timing due toengine compression and available octane.

I am not sure what the SAE corrected results would be, though they could be calculated. They would certainly be less, maybe even dropping you to 390 rwhp. That would still be very good for the relatively few mods. Most cars seem to need all the bolt on mods (x-pipe, filter and/or intake, pulley and tune) to get to or break 390 rwhp.

Its hot over there even if it is dry rather than humid heat. I think the meth would serve you well. The Vishnu tune plus meth would be at the top of my list.

I installed the Vishnu procede plus meth on my 08 M3 with 6MT. Already have underdrive pulley, catless x-pipe and filter. I really like it and think it adds more power than a tune alone (and it should for twice the price). Have gone through about half a gallon of 70/30 meth/water in just a few days, but I have been doing a lot of test driving. I don't like the standard install so I will be doing a trunk mount for the meth and pump soon. I will eventually dyno to see the cumulative effect of my mods, but since I do not have a baseline, I will not know the exact gains. If it makes close to 400 rwhp SAE on a dynojet, I will be happy. That was the goal for my $2500 in performance mods.

The install takes longer than the 45 minutes claimed, except perhaps for someone who has done it before. For the competent first timer, I would plan on 2-3 hours.

You can run a baseline (underdrive pulley, catless x-pipe and filter) without Procede/Meth by running a dyno in Map 0. Then activate Map 1 for a Procede without meth run. Then Map 4 for a Procede with meth run to see the gains. You'll see three distinct lines and the meth runs will be very consistant.

That would be easy and illustrate the advantage of the tune, unless the meth and tune have resulted in adaption to better values for Map 0 that would at least initially make more power than if the meth and tune had never been installed. I would not mind knowing what it has been making until I installed these parts, but my first few runs would be as I drive it, which is procede plus meth since that is what interests me the most.

I tried the flash route. This is the only way i would do it. Next is supercharger and even then, i'll still run meth on my car.

If you want to do a baseline, put it on map 0 and pull the power from the meth pump so we are certain meth is not flowing. Do 3 runs. Then switch to map1 and do the same. Then plug the power into the meth pump, switch it to map4 and do 3 runs.

Are you planning on doing the intall yourself? If so a DIY for the rest of us would be greatly appreciated if we ever get the cash together to get an SC.

I'm not planning on doing the install myself, a friend of mind is a mecanic at BMW so I asked him to do the install, hopefully everything will go well but from what I've heard it's nothing too complicated! But I agree with you, a DYI would be nice to see before starting a job like that!

Sorry to bump an old thread but there is something I can't seem to pinpoint.

Are the HP gains much more with Primary Cat delete than they are with an x-pipe with High Flow cats? Lets say test pipes vs a challenge sport with high flows.
