OE Mufflersectomy

G'day all,

Have been giving this quite a lot of thought lately. Has anyone cut out the second set of cats, and opened up the original muffler?
I would imagine the muffler would be packed with sound absorbing material, and if removed would probably sound very unique.

There has been a few that have deleted the cats and or resonators and it sounds pretty good. I have not seen anyone open up the OE muffler but i imagine it could sound good.

I have suspicions that the inside of the stock muffler has no insulation, just metal baffling. Taking the top skin off and "bypassing" the baffles has been done on other cars...should work for the M3, too.
Give it a shot...

I can't imagine it sounding too good. Probably just louder.
