Good Price For 09 Convertible

Hello all,

New to the Forum. I am looking at purchasing a 2009 M3 Convertible from a dealership in souther california. It only has 3k mile on it. Has premium and sports package, navigation and has the manual/automatic transmission. I am new to BMW and wanted to know if this is a good price. The car is about 67k, no room in price. With the options I could see that are built in, it seems about right, someone let me know if I am about to overpay. Thanks

Mike

So I just found this thread http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...m3+convertible , and I would have to say the price I am paying is pretty good. Although the car has 3k miles on it, I don't get to pop its cherry, but i save what seems like a lot of money.

NO room in price? In this economy? I find that a little hard to believe.

Offer 'em less and walk away. You can always go back if you decide you can't live without the car...

Make sure the original warranty is 100% transferable and get it in writing.

Happy shopping!

The car will be purchased at a Carnac dealership. Yea it lacks the prestige of a BMW dealership, but I have purchased a couple of cars for my daughters there, they didn't get brand new lexus's, couple years old, but have been pleased with their business model so far. They advertise a no haggle price, so I am fairly positive there is no room. Any reason the warranty would not be transferable? I am taking the car to a BMW dealership to have it inspected ASAP, they have a 5 day return policy If anything is wrong. What about that price though? From what I have seen, it seems petty good.

67k seems quite high. That's nearly full KBB and no one is paying full book for anything right now.

Do you have the whole build list for the car? Some options are fairly meaningful related to the impact on the price. For instance: premium sound system is a $1,900 option, and 19" wheels are a $1,200 option. Knowing the full list of options would help better determine if this is really a great deal.

I already pulled the trigger, bought it for asking price, a little under 67. Car has every option I could see, premium audio looks to be included. It has mdrive as well. The car had premium package, sports package, navigation and everything else I could think of. I got an invoice price from a nearby dealer bedew purchasing, and it wa about 65 before options, I can live with the 2500 miles that were put on by the previous owner in a little under 1 year. Deal is done so I won't torture myself, just wanted to know.

Any reason the warranty would not be transferable though???

The price is about right, it's an E93, there is quite a bit of premium over the E92.
I say the M3s are holding value pretty well. My 09 E92 is trading around CAD 70K pre-owned, My MSRP was CAD 86K when I bought it.

I agree, in writing would have been key. I am going to call BMW Tom to make changes to the info affiliated with the VIN, if for whatever reason it didn't transfer, I will probably return the car. But after driving it today, even in the rain, , it would be hard to part. The price wasn't fantastic, but I couldn't find a dealer to give me even near it on a base 09 vert. The car only had 2400 miles, nuts that a one year old car had 2400 miles!!!!

Mine's 8 mos old with similar mileage because it's a Sunday driver that I intend to garage and pamper for the rest of my life - at least that's the plan...

Hopefully your car has a similar background!

Car probably isn't a year old. Probably was driven for 4 months or so.

I've had my car for ~15 months now and I've put about 9500 miles on it. But winter in Chicago is coming.. my guess is when my lease is up (36 mos) I'll probably have around 18k miles or so on it -- cause it's not being driven in the winter.. and out of the 21 months I have remaining.. about 8 of them are winter. Only average around 600-700 miles a month... so that should have me putting another ~9,100 miles on it.

I love the E93 though.. the day my lease is up I'm buying it outright and putting an ESS stage 3 on it

The car was purchased almost exactly one year ago, give or take a week. There are so few miles, and I plan on keeping it that way. The hard part is not driving it, its just so much damn fun!!! I will probably only drive it on weekends and the car probably just got the most mile in a single weekend it will ever get, drove from socal to Norcal to get it home. Probably should have had them transfer it to a closer store, but that still would have been about 100 miles from my house, and driving it was so much fun!!! Car is covered for now, I need to schedule a appointment to get windows tinted and a clear wrap put on.
