Is BMW responding to a surplus of "large headlamp" complaints and plan to make them too small instead?

This is absolutely fake. Take a look at the driver in the sedona red car in all of the 1'er videos released from BMW. Hell the guy has same damn haircut!

What the hell are autobild thinking? I atleast think they got it totally wrong. I havent seen anything in the bmw styling these days that would translate to that kind of setup.

Well this is obviously a photoshop, but its a hint at what is to come. Its different but not out of the ballpark, google the BMW Millia Miglia concept as well the GINA concept and look at the headlights on those cars. I think the slit slamp design is something BMW might use on one of its cars and why not the next 1 series? Its very very different, but BMW has said they want to be more dramatic with the next 1 series, so its a real possibility..

Ever since Audi went with LED headlights on the R8, I think it is a matter of time before this trickles down to other brands and models. I read that due to the compact size of LED's, you are going to start to see some pretty off the wall headlight designs. This obvious photoshop of a 1er is an example.

Perhaps you might spend a moment defining for Bimmerpost how your forum personality contributes in a positive way to ongoing narrative? Do you regard your remarks as generally constructive?

While I might be a newcomer around these parts, I have reviewed your posting history, it seems to me, you regularly present yourself as one compelled to comment via the drive-by, self-satisfied hit and run remark. Might I ask, do you regularly present yourself in public as you do on Bimmerpost, or, do you reserve for Bimmerpost an extra-special preciousness? Just asking.

What say ye'?

Still has the pork belly :-) They probably had a whiff of new design cues and whipped up a photoshop from old, I meant current, 135i photo.

Hideous.
The good thing is that they're just trying to sell magazines, not cars. All they did was cut and paste elements from other cars. What they seem not to understand is that the nose of the 1 is just higher than on the Z or even on the 3 coupes. If you can't lower the hood, you just end up with lots of purple plastic around those little headlights. Add in the upside down grilles and gaping maw under the bumper and the overall effect is a big, purple Pokemon.

^ agree with ptack, the asymettry in the headlight, grills and body give it all away as extremely fake. Not to mention extremely ugly :/

Not to forget the M1 Hommage. So the question is not wheter BMW will bring such a design or not, but when.

Best regards, south

Too bad they didn't put it into production, it would have trumped Audi's R8. Too late now. It could be several years before the markets recover.
