Traveling with your M3
Does anyone else dream about bringing their M3 on vacation or on Travel?
I wish could take my M3 on trips, especially to the West Coast. It is so painful to drive a rental car or go through amazing roads and not have my car - Even more painful to see "exotic car rentals" charge $500 a day for an e93 M3 |

AMTRAK has the car train between Northern Virginia to Sanford, FL (http://www.amtrak.com/servlet/Conten...=1241245666320)
I've had friends that have taken it. Enjoyed their trip and liked have their car locally for excursions. |

Yes. Probably why European delivery is so popular

what do you guys do about flats? I am going up to Vermont in a few weeks and would love to take the M3 but I worry about getting a flat and being stranded. I've never used the fix a flat stuff in a can either.

Okay, real answer: you can't worry all the time about flats. Just go. (unless you're driving near building construction sites or a nail factory.) .

If you are worried about it get a jack, a wrench and a spare tire and take it along.

Agree with most the others, pack your stuff and hit the road...gotta enjoy the ride. Not much fun just having a garage queen IMO.

I have done a few 1000km+ road trips on the M over the last 4 years. In total , I had one flat tire caused by a nail but was quickly fixed at a tire shop(very lucky) in a small town. It would be wise to check your tires and bring a tire fixing kit(something similar to the kit comes with the car).

Do you have AAA? They will come and tow the car (flatbed) to the nearest repair shop if such a thing happens. Fortunately I have never needed to use their services for my M3, but it is a nice safety net to have. I believe the rates are fairly reasonable and sometimes membership is even included with your auto insurance.

I think about this all the time. I live on the east coast and have taken many vacations out west in the past few years. I have been on some amazing and curvy roads but I'm always in a craptastic soulless rental.
Heading to highway 1 on the Pacific Coast soon and will miss my M3 mightily. |
