My Dealership has me steaming. Over 10 days and I bring it home to this crap
UPDATE- The Transmission Malfunction Light came up again today according to my service agent. Second time in 20 miles. They fixed it. Bought it home. SOMEHOW Magically OIL was overfilled in my engine and was spewing out the top. TOWED IT to dealership on Wednesday. Today he said when he put it in reverse the tranny malfunctioned again.. thinks my car is heading towards being lemoned.. unreal. Transmission malfunction light Car was taken in on Friday October 8th While updating software, something crashed causing them to order a new junction box. From there they ordered another part and another part. Long story short, car was finally finished today, 11 days later. Got in car, firstly I requested no wash specifically since I just waxed and sealed the car. What do they do? Wash it. Ok fine Next thing I noticed is that someone sat on my passenger seats with tools in their pockets or something causing engraved markings.. Ok Not that big of an issue but I can feel the springs of the cushion on the bottom. Ok fine Lastly I come home, leave car running on driveway for a second and park it. Notice the car leaked small puddles of oil. Popped open the hood, and my block is covered with oil. Wiped it down. Apparently they topped off my oil in my engine and my engine oil level when inspected in the car reads: "Engine oil level is too high. Please have it checked by your local bmw center" I don't understand why the even touched the oil level. They drove the car a total of 4 miles the whole 10 days but regardless I don't know what oil they even put in the car and why they even did it or what moron filled it to that level. Car is going to get towed back to them in the morning. Time for a new dealership.. I can't believe how long this has taken to do and I come back to this crap. I don't have time to waste like this. Thank god I only drove for about 20 miles. Hopefully no damage was done to my engine. Last edited by M3ryder55; 10-23-2010 at 12:15 AM.. |

THIS IS WHY I LEASE - fuck them and THEIR car, oil to high? who gives a shit, to low? who cares!! 15k oil change??? make it 25k please, break in period??? what is this break in period?? redline day 1 - track days? HELL YES 10 of them!!! launch control once a day every day for 3 years!! learn to drift from m3 message board spend ENTIRE DAY SIDEWAYSCwhen your done bring it back GET THE NEW M3 MODEL WITH 3 TURBOS and do it all over again.
if i owned my car and they did that shit id go bizerk |

Car has less than 4,000 miles... what a headache. what an unnecessary issue to be dealing with. you would think these morons would show an 80,000 dollar car a little more respect. I'm steaming. My car is dumped too, i'm worried about how its going to fit onto the tow bed.. oh yah and they scratched my front lip a little bit too forgot to mention that |

only reason why i go to valencia is because i love my service adviser he is the best but went on vacation while my car was there. its not his fault but the techs.. omg im still shocked over this. unbelievable . im going to give them so much crap tomorrow for this headache.

you should have it towed by BMW assist, make them pay for it!!! Tell the operator there's an error message that prevents you from driving the car without doing more damage...

I hear nothing but bad things about Valencia BMW and their service...I go to Center BMW (My SA is Andre) and luckily haven't had any problems....I have a few friends that go to Bob Smith as well without problems...
OP: might want to try another dealership....

IMO none of those things are acceptable, it doesnt matter if its a $80K M3 or a $12K KIA the whole idea is the car is supposed to be better when it leaves the dealer than it arrived - not worse.
Its a shame in this economic climate that there are so many dealer complaints, you would think they would be trying extra hard to please customers and not piss them off. Hope you get it fixed to your satisfaction, I hate when my car is at a dealer for 4 hours so i can imagine the frustration. |

when they treat me like shit I take it out on THEIR car, start that shit up in winter and FLOOR it, park it leave the doors unlocked, its like a glorified rent a car, when you bring it back fill it with the lowest grade gas possible/dirty, take out YOUR floor mats.

The grease monkeys at the dealership gets paid the same whether they are working on a mini, 318ti or a M6, why should they care? It's really not the manufacturer's fault, but there seems to be no pride for most people to do a good job anymore, it's just a job, not a career for them! Well, maybe that's why we are not west Germans! You have no idea what I went thru with my dealership as well, great SA, great service manager, still, there are bad apples among them. That's really just too bad! That's why I think there is a need for separate M dealerships and service centers, only the best gets to work there!

Ive come to the conclusion that the oil was added on accident. I will not take the dealerships excuse oh we simply added to much..
No, point blank the car was driven for over 25 miles and for those 25 miles till when I got home oil had been coming out of the top of the engine. This raises a red flag because I'm willing to bet that there is two different oil grades in my engine because if this was done as part of the request there is no way in hell the dealership would make this error. It was obviously added on accident by some moron. I am going to make them change out my oil tomorrow completely with a new oil filter and I want them to do a compression check on each cylinder head and provide me a detailed report. Hell will be raised tomorrow. This is stupid, pointless and unacceptable for a car of this standard. Sorry I will not stand for it and these morons better fix it and than some. |
