A monster for sure, but will be ~$110k for the wagon? Can't deal with that. CTS-V wagon, used E63 Wagon, or X5M... some other options out there.

Kids won't be happening for another number of years (well that is the plan...) By then, it will be used and in a better price range. Then again, there will be other cars I will want. On my second M now, gonna stay that way for some time!

Planning to put your kids in the trunk? you don't need a wagon or SUV for kids, our e90 was just fine. Wagons are good for dogs and carrying junk.
They have some cool factor but at half the price a CTS-V sounds like a no brainer if you don't mind the tacky analog clock in the middle of the dash for a 100 grand an x5 looks a lot better. |

Audi (R)S6 wagon would be ideal - softer, tougher, and actually cheaper if not RS, but not available in US. Other options on the list are in order of likely preference Macan Turbo (if it turns our well), SQ5, used Cayenne Turbo or Audi S7 (if I get completely disappointed by SUVs). X5 was crossed out because of its size, and the new one seems to be even bigger, and X3 is a bit too bare-bones, although I may change my mind - it's too good of a vehicle for the money. Wish they made X3M... Not to go off-topic... |

Well, I tried planning going to a ski cottage for a week with one baby in an M3. Even with skis on the roof there is no way to fit all the equipment and baby stuff comfortably. In a wagon, I could find the place for all that and for grandma to babysit!
