I did european delivery and I spoke with both my delivery agent and the paperwork agent on petrol and they both had the same speech: don't bother buying more than 91 as the engine won't know the difference and it'll be a waste of money.

I don't know enough to have an opinion on it and can only buy 91 here anyway, but that's what they said.[/QUOTE]

Oh, I think it's more powerful using 93. I will try 91 next time. THX

How is it they still sell pure gas commercially?.. I thought it was EPA federal requirement that all gas being sold was supposed to now be e10.

I would love to find non-ethanol gas..other than buying race gas its just not available in the Northeast
Nope. http://pure-gas.org/ Our cars love ethanol free fuel.

Then check your state laws on requiring the gas station to inform it's customers on whether it has ethanol or not. (Usually a sticker on the gas pump.) For some reason rural areas (at least in Illinois) have more access to ethanol free gas then bigger towns.

Ok so if you had a choice:

Top Tier gas or Ethanol Free gas from a non Top Tier brand

Discuss.

I don't think is a Federal requirement, but I have not read on that, all I can tell you is that there are places here in Western North Carolina and Eastern Tennessee where I have purchased 100 % non-ethanol gas, pure gasoline. Not really that hard either. check Ethanol Free and Pure Gas apps for iPhone or go to their websites where they tell you if they are gas stations with pure gas non-ethanol in your area.

I have only used Exxon/Mobil gas in my cars the past 7 years. I have always felt that in each car I have had, Exxon gasoline is very good. I have used Shell and BP and do not really notice a difference. I think Shell/BP/Exxon are all on the same level.

I use Costco premium gas right now. I can't say I've ever noticed a difference in performance.

I'd probably go ethanol free, but that is just a fantasy, isn't it?

Actually no it isn't. The Spinx right across from the plant has Ethanol free premium gas. To be honest, I can't notice a HUGE difference. Having said that, be prepared to pay 30 cents more per gallon than any other gas stations for that luxury haha.

Plenty of places to find ethanol free gas. Mine just happened to be literally across work

100% Non-Ethanol Gas here:

I always put 100 % non-ethanol gas. Check out this website, there might be a gas station nearby with 100 % pure gas.

I use ethanol free myself. There are 5 stations within 10 miles of my house that have it. It is usually 20 cent more per gallon but it is worth it. The gas mileage increase will more than offset the price of the fuel.

Is it kind of a mom's pop's store? There's a few no name brands not far from the house, but if I'm going to go non-top tier, I'm sticking with a bigger chain like Spinx.

Pure Gasoline

For those that use pure gasoline, just remember to use BMW Fuel System Cleaner in the tank every 6k miles to clean your injectors... Part of Shell and Shell like Gas stations that is good, is that they have chemicals (cleaners) that help your engine, that's basically the only good thing they have, so by using pure gas it would be helpful for you to use a Fuel Cleaner, like BMW's.

my 2 cents
