Noob question..

Some guy is telling me that any turbo can work with any car, is this statement true?

He's trying to sell some cheap turbo to this guy whos looking to replace his stock turbo in his Carrera

I highly doubt it is but i dont know all that much about forced induction..

Direct Quote: "Any turbo can work with any car for the most part, lol. TD04's are good all around turbo's for anyone that wants a quick spool with little lag. Comes with the elbow too so everything would work on his car with a little time invested."

Sure anything can work as long as you're up to making the custom piping, getting all the necessary upgrades for your fuel system and having the ECU custom tuned to make it work with the car.

I personally wouldn't buy a "cheap" turbo and stick it into a 911

No.
Each application requires the proper turbo setup to operate. There is no "one size fits all" turbo.

its going to be more involved then what this guy is making it out to seem. tell
your friend to look into respected tuners for quality answers. i wish i could be of
more help but i don't know much about p-cars. is your friend looking to make
more power or did his turbo fail?

Unless you want to go with an aftermarket tune and supporting modifications, you should stick with the stock turbo.

Some turbos suit certain engines more than others (i.e. rotated design, compressor wheel size, etc.).

+1000

Besides putting a cheap Turbo on an expensive Porsche? What about the proper tuning for the car. Cheap Turbo + off the shelf/incorrect tune =
