HALO style real life off-roader from hell

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=GzXVLbs41Ew

Wow- he drives this thing like he's playing HALO, and it takes all the punishment.

While that machine is capable of taking an amazing amount of punishment, I don't appreciate his offroading style. I own a lifted Jeep on 35s and most people I go four wheeling lift believe in the phrase "tread lightly". He's knocking down trees and tearing up the trails making the experience less fun for the rest of us. I can do most of those trails without kicking up half that much dirt. Sometimes its not "give it more gas" but more finesse to get up the trails. Living here in Colorado I've had no problem doing some of the toughest red trails in the nation... even trails that check if you are carrying a spill kit because "you will flip over". One of our trails even requires a winch and a highlift jack before you can even go past the start point because without a winch you will NOT get out.
But hey, that buggy can take some damage so good for him. IMHO that is not the proper way to drive off road.
Tread Lightly.

Oh I absolutely agree. Treading lightly is a big deal in mountain biking, too. Unless he's in private parks he's closing trails. He spent as much time going sideways as forwards. Not only is it damaging, but dangerous for a lot of the bystanders. I wonder what he'd be able to do creeping up in an ultra-low gear vs. spinning tires.

Still, I'm really in awe over the toughness and capabilities of the machine. Just like a video game.

That roll cage is severely overbuilt though. Too heavy.

I could only imagine what he could do with a ultra low gear and crawling that thing. I dropped an Atlas II transfer case into my jeep and a the abilities of my jeep where just amazing in ultra low. 70 mph on the highway tops but over the rocks it was crazy.

And that thing is way tough. I wouldn't do half that stuff in my jeep but I would try the same trails at a much slower speed and WAYYYY lower gear. Might take me longer to do it, but I'm getting up the same trails, and causing a ton less damage.

Glad I'm not the only one who believes in tread lightly.

you guys should look at the video description. this is filmed on private land so who cares. he apparently "intentionally" drove that way

TC pretty much shocked everybody when he built his buggy called SHOWTIME. It's Jimmy Smith Motorsports Chassis and TC built the rest at his shop.
There isn't many hills he didn't hit in this buggy in the last few months. He started breaking the 300m RCV shafts so he decided to build some new 14 Bolt axles with Ouverson Shafts and Rockwell Outers. So I can't wait to see how he treats in next.
and with that... i want one!!!

Not that impressive. I've seen and ridden in sandrails with 400hp small block chevy's in the sand dune's. This machine would be better suited in the dunes like Glamis, gordons well, and buttercup where there is endless sand, whoops, and jumps to ride in. Trail riding such as this, no thank you.

Cool vehicle, but like everyone else has said, the worst offroading I have ever seen in my life...

Cool machine, driven by a total jackass. Guy is tearing shit up left and right, so much for "Tread Lightly." Honestly, I don't even really see any skill, just mashing the loud pedal and letting horsepower do all the work.

So what? Still doesn't make it right, nor safe for the spectators, nor means the driver isn't an unskilled hack. Has nothing to do with Priuses.....

I think the Prius is a good car, not an enthusiasts dream but pretty good for driving to work, on trips and other daily duties.
