You know you've been to the track when...

You wind up with hot-rubber skidmarks on your front fascia, hood and roof from flying rubber chunks thrown by cars ahead. Time to find a full-body track condom for the M3...

.... when your brake rotors are blue, your tires are bald, and you are proud of it.

Ha ha, seriously. I thought there wasn't that much debris or many markings with my black BMW, but with the white one....well it's bad. I pretty much have to do a full detail after a track event.

....you no longer care about small nicks and scrapes on your paint?

....when something breaks and you think "oh that's f*cking great, just another day at the track"? (Me currently, whoo....)

....when you're thinking about your next tires two track days after you bought your current set?

....your wife complains about the ride but you think it's not stiff enough, and that compromising for her sucks?

....when you're no longer on asphalt and go "gee, what line should I try the next time" as opposed to "gee, I wonder how much my insurance premiums are going to go up as a result of this"?

You know you\'ve been to the track when...

... all you're thinking about is how you could squeeze another tenth or two off your lap time.

...all you're thinking about is the next time you'll be on the track and how long and painful of a wait it will be till then.

...you have a light grey cone scuff mark on the the front wheel well lip, and it is still there 2 years later. You know you can wet sand and and polish it out, but it makes you smile every time you look at it on the way into the office.

...you watch someone's line through an on/off ramp and think "that's an awful line"

...you start trail braking off ramps

...you late apex off ramps to get a faster track out

... you leave the Watkins Glen stickers on your windshield for a year.
... people at stoplights stare at you when your brakes make sounds like metal on metal truck brakes.
... your suspension sounds like nickels being bounced in a pie tin due to all the spherical bearings that you put in over a year ago and haven't replaced, yet.

... 8 miles/gallon makes you smile.

... on the highway you wait for the guy in the Mustang to point you by before you pass him.
