BC Hwy 28 - Gold River Hwy Trip

Did a trip with my brother-in-law and my sister, me in the 2011.75 E90 M3 and them in the 2005 Porsche 911 Carrera S. We drove BC Hwy 28 on Vancouver Island, the Gold River Hwy that goes through Strathcona Provincial Park, ranked the 4th best driving / riding road in the Province.

I apologize for having more pictures of the P-car. Since my new 2011.75 M3 looks almost exactly the same as my old 2008 M3, I didn't feel like taking many pictures of it :-P

What's noteworthy for the M3 was that, I started the trip with barely over 200km on the odometer, and ended up with just over 1000km, after 2 days... as I had just taken delivery on Tuesday and then left for this trip on Saturday. Break-in instructions were observed... but the engine definitely had some "varying-RPMs" ;-)

Equipments are, for still shots, Canon 50D + Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L USM + B+W Circular Polarizer for sunny shots only, and GoPro HD Hero 960 for the videos.

Batch 1: Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal.

The famous 911-only fat rear fenders.

The only part that's different on my new car, the LCI tail lights.

Batch 2: Qualicum Beach on the east coast of Vancouver Island, a popular vacationing and retirement spot.

Batch 3: Campbell River waterfront, our lunch view, and the start of Hwy 28.

Batch 4: Gold River Lumber Mill, the end of the line for Hwy 28.

Batch 5: A couple of artsy-fartsy scenes I found after we pulled into the hotel, and decided that a couple of pictures were in order.

1st video is completely un-cut, interior windshield cam from the Porsche with my car in front, showing a stretch going eastbound on BC Hwy 28 towards Strathcona Provincial Park.

The 2nd video is a compilation of all the footage the GoPro recorded on that day, not including the above video.
