I looked at all the different brands and this is the best and easiest IMO, it took me forever to finally decide on what to get reading pretty much every thread I could. If your on the fence about what to get LUX is the way to go, just plug and play

Im reading every thread, asking everyone for pics....trying to gather as much info as possible. So I'm definitely in the same boat as you.

Yup, this will help in the cooling of the units helping to make their lifespan even longer this it already is.

Trade in program? not really but you can always try to sell your current set and then get the amber ones, that's always an option!

Are they simply Black Anodized or are they Black Ceramic coated? I don't see how black vs silver anodized would make them run any cooler.

Anodized. do some research on Radiational Heat Transfer

and Emissivity of materials

Can you confirm if the previous model is anodized at all? If so what type?

Also have you done testing for the difference in heat, if so what's the difference? Just curious (as I'm sure a lot of other folks are too), thanks.

The previous LUX versions were a bare aluminum with no coating on them. the new ones are all anodized. I havent completed my tests yet, but my initial testing has shown them to run much cooler. I plan on having more results tonight.
