Does anyone know if this can do battery coding/registration?

It could NOT do it a few months ago when I asked.
It also can't do service resets if you change your oil yourself.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Not sure how it's done when you don't have an iDrive.?
If you have insight, it would be much appreciated. .

There's a guide on YouTube. It's done thru the instrument/information cluster

As stated there's threads around that will tell you how. I service my own car and also don't have Idrive. You do everything through the BC stalk on the left side.

Can anyone who bought this confirm if the app can display things like the 'diesel particle filter' % figure? Had my car in for a service recently and they told me all 6 glow plugs are showing errors when I went to pick the car up, problem is I can't get any time off to get it fixed for a while, would be nice to be able to keep an eye on it to put my mind at ease until it goes in for service. If it gets bad maybe I can borrow a car for a bit or catch the train instead but would rather not have to go through this hassle. I have an iphone 5S so interested if the Apple version can read these figures, I know the android app can do more though so would consider buying a cheap android tablet if absolutely needed.
At what sort of % should I start to get worried, have heard DPF issues can be rather expensive if it gets properly blocked up. Any help appreciated on this, if anyone lives near Lincoln/Grantham and has the app working it would be nice to see it in action as well. If it matters the car is a 330D Coupe registered end of November 2007 (so well after 03/2007 but not an LCI model), not too clear from the website if my car would work with the wifi dongle as the BMWhat iphone app shows the wifi adapter as incompatible for coding on cars manufactured 'before facelift 03/2007'. thanks |

Confirmation for Iphone5s users....
Sooooo, I spent my Saturday morning playing with my new toys... I can confirm that the iPhone/iPad Wifi adapter (OBDII) for BMWhat purchased from Amazon for $64 works via wifi with my iPhone5s... I used the free iViNi BMWhat app first for compatibility then purchased the full app. After hooking it up to the OBD port, then locating the wifi on my iPhone5s in the settings I was able to connect with no issues. I was able to communicate with the following with the exception of two categories. I had no problems coding or clearing codes although I did notice the further I moved away from the car the slower the coding got, so I just sat in the driver's seat and coded a few things to my liking..... I also coded everything while the car was running. I mostly coded the common things everyone else is coding... After my first diagnosis I had 19 faults... I took some advice and clear all 19 and will run another diagnosis after putting a few hundred miles on the car to see what comes back.... Then I will go from there... Is this pretty close to what everyone else is doing....?
Oh and I have a 2009 BMW M3 E92 CAS: IHKA: KOMBI: FRM: JBBF: DWA: No alarm/Not compatible CSM: Not compatible CTM: Awesome tools.. I recommend this products to all iPhone5s users..

Ok, it doesn't seem like this one here will work with BMWHat on Android.
http://www.scantool.net/obdlink-lx.html I tried it and it offered 0 coding ability. Did anyone else have luck with this bluetooth adapter and BMWhat? |

Its very simple....BMWhat Ap will be "plug & play" with iPhone's with the Elm327 Wifi, Androids are plug and play with the Elm Can 327 BLUE TOOTH. iOS WILL NOT WORK WITH BLUETOOTH, AND WIFI WILL NOT WORK WITH ANDROID...IDK WHY? ITS JUST THE WAY IT IS...
------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ ------------------------------------ The coding options are different for every BMW. The e9x platform has multiple control Units (Engine, Transmission (Both DCT & 6MT), Airbags, lighting, safety, etc) The app and a wireless connection only has a strong enough signal to change settings of 2 out of 7 "code-able": computers. Although I already coded my car using the DCAN cable and NST expert software. I did mess with BMWhat App and successfully changed some other settings... Also from my understanding if you buy the special cable and plug directly OBDII port you will gain access to additional ecu's (not all). Some require adapters and run independently from the OBD system (for safety and or reliability reasons). I run both, as each iOS and Droid have diff apps, that do things the others do not. I use my iOS products to run Dash Command/Rev for realtime PID's as in my opinion they look the coolest, also seems to be the most accurate in estimating HP/TQ at the wheels (provided you correctly enter the EXACT weight (including fuel, passengers, options, and cargo) , 1st-6th gear ratios, final drive ratio, wheel/tire weights and tire sizes, coefficient of friction and aerodynamics of the specific car. When it comes down to it, this is a great tool for enthusiast's who want to get into complex programming without letting them go deep enough to cause irreversible damage... Off the top of my head, the two most commonly requested changes are "DVD in Motion" and elimination of the seat belt GONG. This App with wireless hardware in unable to modify these things... (As of 11/12/14) What it can do: Elimination of the orange corner light Fold mirrors with fob lock Unfold mirror with fob roll windowns up with fob pragram the settings of up to 4 kyes differently (most only have two) Choose the time it takes to fold mirrors (5 sec, 2 sec, .5s) AND DOZENS OF OTHER LOCKING 7 LIGHTING RELATED STUFF. TO ANSWER ONE PERSONS POST, YESS YOULL BE ABLE TO MAKE ANGEL EYES BURN HOTTER BUT BE CAREFUL! Also, important to note you can still use regular internet, calls, etc on phone if you asssign the eml327 as a "static connection" otherwise it will occupy the signal used for imessages and such... The one benefit Android has over iOS in my opinion( aside from it bring less in ab pita to link bluetooth than someone accidentlitally use up your wifi) is "TORQUE PRO APP" it has a plug-in that lets you record of a video and overlay certain PID's like RPM, throttle position, or RPM. This IS PERFECT for track or

The adapter I've been using w/ NO ISSUES...
This unit was 1$5.99 on Amazon and works perfectly with my iPhone 5c. Its not coming straight from China because It was at my door 3 days after ordering it....PM me if you want a link to the EXACT product I ordered.....
(Edit: I have to hold the phone very close to code many of the ecus) And I still can't access 3 or 4...Maybe I should spend a few extra bucks to get the BMWhat Product pictured above))

9/10 I leave DASH COMMAND DISPLAYED...
Besides being the easiest to read and IMO "Coolest looking it displays all the PID's the ECU has, and uses advanced algorithms and computes PIDs to compute a few readouts that the ECU does not monitor directly ...
I'm yet to figure out how the application can measure such things as Catalyst Temp, LAMDA and a few others....The communication lags a bit and is too slow to use as a tachometer when "pushing it"...(By the time you hear the shift indicator tone in 1st-3rd your bouncing off the rev limiter for quite some time, even if you set the indicator at 7900) and my Rev Limit is OEM. For actual functionality, the full version of REV by Toaster ($39.99 i think) seems to have the least lag....Also clears the codes & THE MEMORY of the code ever appearing I Have also tried OBD2 Fusion, Engine Link, and some others that didn't really excite me.... But here's Dash Command, and if you look closely you'll see some pretty interesting numbers..... Important FYI: When installing ANY WIFI ADAPTER & MONITORING or DISPLAY DEVICE, SETUP A "STATIC" IP CONNECTION and alt. SUBNET MASK...this will make the link to your device separate from your internet receiver! Otherwise...BMWhat, Dash Com, Rev, OBD Lnk, Fusion, etc will not allow for iMessages, or internet browsing...
