M3 Convertible in Boston: What is the right price?
Hi all,
This is my very first post here, but it won't be the last! I am joining the community after a long time of planning and waiting. The time has finally come. I am in the process of getting quotes from the Boston area BMW dealers for a 2011 M3 convertible. So far, the lowest one I have is for $78,949, which is a 5% discount on the MSRP of $83,105 (specs below). There was no real negotiation yet, the guy just sent a reply to my email with this "aggressive" price. According to Edmunds.com TMV, the invoice is around $77.200. It looks like a good deal. How much less should I expect to pay? M3 Convertible - 4.0 liter, V-8 engine Rear-wheel drive - Interlagos Blue Metallic $550 - Fox Red Novillo Leather $0 - Blue-gray Brushed Aluminium Trim $0 - Cold Weather Package $750 - Premium Package $1,350 - Technology Package $3,250 - 19" Light alloy Double-spoke wheels style 220M-with performance tires $1,200 - M Double-clutch Transmission with Drivelogic $2,900 - Smartphone Integration $150 - Enhanced Premium Sound $1,900 - iPod and USB adapter $400 - Anti-theft alarm system $400 - Automatic high beams $250 - Park Distance Control (rear only) $380 - Destination & Handling: $875 Total MSRP as Built $83,105 |

Ok I'm thinking about getting an Euro Delivery 2011 M3 E92.
I've read that several people in this thread got European invoice pricing from David Aviles @ Passport BMW (Maryland). So suppose I'm getting a base model without any options: +$49,965 M3 Coupe ED Invoice +$1300 Gas Guzzler +$875 Destination =$52,140 My questions are: 1. Please confirm this would be the correct amount (before sales tax) I'd expect to get from Passport BMW? Or is he making profit based on additional packages/options? 2. Do dealerships that do EDs benefit from the 3% to 4% kickback from BMW at end-of-year? Thanks |

Anyone deal with Fields BMW in Northfield Chicago area? I'm looking to purchase a 2011 M3 E90. Currently live in Minneapolis, but am willing to explore near the region.

Depending on if you take the car to the U.S. you may very well end up paying sales tax on it even after years of ownership. Most states will charge you sales tax when you register a car bought through the Military / Diplomatic sales programs. The sales people know this but they like to get you worked up over "big savings." Been there done that....you know the rest. Cheers |

How'd you manage Welt delivery, does the dealer in Germany have something in place that allows it? I was told I had to take delivery through the dealer here in the UK.
