You and advskier have pretty much clarified my point. I'm sure if you keep digging you'll get yourself out of that hole you're in. How old are you? 15? Show me one post of mine, EVER; (do you understand that?) Let me repeat, EVER, where I stated an Audi was better than the M3. Do you see my post count. Not one post says Audi is better than BMW. And no, that doesn't mean that I think BMW is better than Audi. But then you don't seem to grasp that concept. You remind me of those morons that believe waving a flag makes them a patriot. Grow up.

I'm still waiting on comment from him about the data I produced regarding the S4 engine and supercharger, it's stresses and how it really works. jdgamble commented on it, still nothing from MERC though. |

I agree... I love it, and I am equally surprised to find people on an M3 forum that actually prefer the M3 to slow/cheaper cars. But I don't like that some douche (MERCSUk... who I will refer to as SUK in the future) has gotten some fellow M3 people upset at each other. Common guys... we're supposed to stick together here.

Wow, this thead fell apart. FWIW, I actually somewhat agree with this guy. Having owned both a 335 and an M3, and having just drove the new S4, I'm strongly considering the new S4, but it's not about the car, it's a personal preference. The M3 was amazing, but I'm not that great a driver and traffic in LA sux, so the S4 seems like it might make more sense for my daily commute of 60 miles roundtrip. Gas mileage is better, the all wheel drive allows less accomplished drivers like me to more freely push the car without worrying about losing control of the car (though the M3 is great in this respect to because the upside of less low-end torque is that you can get on the gas a bit more freely at times also), and the torque on the low end suits me better for traffic driving. The M3 was super fast, much faster than my 335 was, but I found it unusable unless on a freeway onramp and not that great if you want to make a quick lane change or something where you want instant low end torque (like I do most times in traffic).
In other words, I'd buy the S4 for the same reasons many choose the 335 over the M3, and in my opinion the S4 is slighly nicer than the 335. Having said all that, the point is that clearly this is a matter of preference, driving skills and individual needs. If I got an S4, it would be because it suits my needs and preferences, not because it is "better" than the M3. Truth be told I wish I could afford both. |

Oh and if I was directing a comment at you specifically, I would have said so, I'm not so shy as all that. I was generalizing, hence my reference to any forum over this one in particular. |

Sorry Radiation Joe for arguing the merits of an M3 vs. an A4 on the "M3 vs." forum. I guess that makes me (and anyone) who call bs on such stupid comparisons fanboys, and not worthy of posting here.
As to your acceptance of this ignorant comparison based on the A4 being better for some people then the M3, the same could just as easily be said for a SMART Car, Suzuki, Hyundai, or VOLT. So I guess we might as well kill "M3 Vs." because the next troll who waddles in making any of the above comparisons will be right. |

A little paranoid....why do you think this was directed at you? Is it because its all you do on this forum is slander BMW and praise Audi? if it makes you feel better because you over spent on a very plain looking, under performing and boring car....well go to town.....it appears your on a roll anyway. ps: pull of your badges on your Audi and put some BMW roundels on it....it may make you feel better

Why does every M3 vs. {modded, boosted car} turn into "the M3 was stock"? It's always been dollar for dollar, or run whatcha brung, where I come from.
Yes, I bought the M3. Yes, for far less money, I can have a far faster car. My $45k 335 with $750 in mods walked more than a few $70k M3's on the highway. With another $3-4k in mods that $50k 335 will walk the M5 at 120, pull on a CTS-V from a dig, etc. I would hardly call a 335 a "cheap ass car". Its fit, finish and interior materials are just as good as an M3. That said, the M3 is a track car. I think it would lay waste to a nose-heavy Audi. The M3 has always been a helluva track car, taking down many other cars of far more horsepower - that's what it was designed for! Buy the M3 to haul ass around the track, or to have the privelege of driving the best handling car in its class. If you want to blaze a straight line, any number of cars with a total investment of less than $30k would smoke that Audi, or my old 335.

The new S4 is far from a boring car. May not be M3 fun, but it sure has come a long way since the B6 and B7 model. I personally think the car is much more capable than the M3 once modding begins, but right out of the box the M3 is definitely a much better car in terms of speed and handling.
