Unfortunately, this is a completely different design that not many are prepared to cannibalize an entire set of new headlamps for.

The AiB's still look better than the LUX kit from EAS' new centered pic...

I wouldn't trade 414hp and aftermarket angel eyes for no more than 300hp and brighter OEM angel eyes. Enjoy those bright lights!

That picture again is not accurate. The outer angel eye - depending where you take the photo, the outer ring will either appear fully lit, or it will appear partly lit. As you can see from the right side outer ring, it is evenly lit on the bottom, but in the middle it appears translucent. This is due to the design of the headlight, and the reflection of the optics in the ring. the ring is meant to be viewed directly ahead, and not from any sort of angel at all. To illustrate my point, i have taken a bunch of pictures using a H8 halogen bulb, around 6500k color. The lights were as bright as i could get them in the room. The bottom picture is centered and all the other pictures were taken from about 2-3 inches apart (up, left and right - according to their location in the picture) These were also taken from about 10 feet away, zoomed in 78mm( using a 28-200 lens) As you can see, moving 2-3 inches up, left or right makes the optics appear translucent, which is what you show in your picture. I hope this clears up the confusion in the pictures that you have posted on this site Last edited by mds82; 06-14-2010 at 09:08 PM.. |

Someone needs to shut this thread down, it's getting very annoying.
Enough Call CalTech and have them take some pictures...

EAS: Your second photo is much closer to being fair and as anyone can plainly see in that picture the uniformity and brightness of the outer LUX ring has substantially improved. I applaud you for going back to the drawing board to try to show things in a more fair fashion. Here is the real question remaining in my mind. We all know that the BWM ring design is inherently viewing angle sensitive, especially the outer ring. That has been now beat to death here. Can you take an off angle shot to get the same non uniform illumination effect in the AiB kit? I suspect you can. If not, or if only just barely then it appears that the extra brightness in part cancels some of this natural tendency for non uniformity (especially in the out rings optics).

The point i was trying to prove with my post above (with all the pictures), is not to compare one product to the other. The point, as Swamp2 put it above, "is vendor dishonesty, unintentional or not"
I can not say which one is better or not, I have never even seen the AIB kit in person, so i can not, nor will i ever say anything good or bad about it. Also, with that 2nd picture from EAS, i measured it in photoshop and it also was not straight on. |

You don't need photoshop to see that it is not centered. Just use a ruler and measure from the red line to the A-pillar on both sides. Its pretty clear it is not centered.

I just bought aibs from eas yesterday due to the lux recall. They are awful! Waste of 300 bucks. First the relay went out then once it was replaced you can hardly see the damn things during the day. I had lux before and am very bummed. Hate them!

Really!? Did I speak with you? You fixed the relay, I checked to make sure they were on and I said "thanks" and left. I saved my negative comments about the product to myself, since you don't manufacture them. I am anything but happy about them. They are awful.

I just got AiBs installed a couple weeks ago and so far so good. I do wish they were a bit brighter, but seriously...I'm just happy to be rid of the stock yellow-ness. AiB seems to be a good quality product.
That being said, there appears to be a new product on the market. If I were still looking for angel eyes, I would seriously consider the Bellof LEDs from Japan that WSTO is now selling. PnP solution from a great vendor. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=397680 |

If you are not 100% satisfied, please come back within 30 days of your purchase and we will have them removed and provide a full refund to your card. No one should be forced to keep a kit they do not want, but at least give us a chance to make things right.

A bit unfair to you? It's not a knock against you or your company. My gripe is with the aib as a product. I didn't feel that anyone at eas could do anything about the brightness aside from return them. Am I correct?

Someone should measure the Lumen count for AiB's vs. Stock angel eyes vs. LUX

I can't knock the AiB's I think for the most part they look pretty good, all I can say is I hate how the vendors never give fair pics and everything turns into an argument as if there can only be one good angel eye solution....

I can't even tell what kind of lights you have, but they look good and evenly lit.
