I agree. I think the best choice would have been GS in my book for DH. Time will tell. I don't think the Rockets will be as good as the Heat were when then first combined forces.

Ha...Howard thinks he will win a championship in Houston. Umm not going to ever happen.
So glad he didn't resign with Lakers. It would have guaranteed Lakers downfall for years to come. |

IMO, Howard needs to get his crap together. Usually someone who is deeply criticized like him will eventually win a title. Look at Lebron. |

Earl Clark jumped ship as well... Over to Cleveland.
This coming season could be as painful as the Dodgers' season so far (though they are playing better at the moment).

That's if he even comes back healthy. Even if he's close to 100% he was before, this team will barely survive the west. Sorry to all the Laker fans.

I don't think any logical Lakers fan thinks they're in title contention this upcoming season. Idk about the rest of Laker nation, but I'm not extremely concerned with the result of the season. I'm just going to enjoy the last few seasons of my favorite athlete's career. Let's remember that most fan bases can only DREAM of 5 championships in a single era. We were lucky. |

Rest assured, there won't be any Laker representatives at that party... Aside from a paper bag filled to the hilt with dog poop.

Lakers got lucky by Howard going to Houston. He is not the guy you want to be the centerpiece of your organization especially post-kobe. Kobe should sit this entire season and get some much needed rest. Tank this season get a lottery pick and hopefully get a chance to draft Andrew Wiggins. Or make a play to lebron or one of the other 2014 free agents. Without Howard in 2014 they will have a lot of money and a clean slate to usher in a new era of winning in laker land.

Agreed! I would trade Gasol, Nash, and MWP for young talent and draft picks.

Yes but who is going to give up young talents for old and washed up players? Nets already did. lol

Defense wins championships. Lakers had no problems with scoring last year. They did have a problem giving up offensive boards, and fast breaks though.
We need some young, quick, long, defensively sound guys to back Kobe and Pau (if he stays). Nash is simply too slow, and old to keep up with a guy like Wall, Kyrie Irving, or even D-Williams. Bring in Nash as a reserve, but let's get a guy like Rondo or even Tony Allen who will defend and be on a guy like white on rice. We need young, hustle players, willing to go after the ball and defend.
