Anybody else see their instructor assignment, and then google their instructor I found a blog and video of my instructor club racing at TWS, so I have a little more confidence that he knows his way around the track.

lol.. I didn't find anything useful on mine but I also didn't look very hard. I'll probably look again today.
So it looks like the instructor has to drive our cars for a few laps? I don't really see the point there.

I'm an idiot...I found it.
3 days to go! Just changed my oil, bled my brakes and swapped in my track pads. So now my car sounds like a garbage truck.

I forgot about that. Since I've done a DE with them before, I'm going to ask my instructor if we can skip that part. I hate it when others drive my car

This will be my first "DE" but I'm still not really on board with someone else driving. The last time I let someone drive my car it ended up in the grass.

When I went with PCA instructor didn't really push it too much, just easier for him to show us the line. Whole different story if he asks you to drive it on 2nd day. That's just too scary in my opinion.

I think it was in the schedule doc. Look on the files tab at CR.net and you'll see it.

Not a big deal but 3-4 laps seems like quite a bit.

It was two laps the last time I was there. It just cuts into the 1st driving session.

If you never done a DE, you'll see how silly the statement of "why do they have to drive my car" is at the end of the weekend. Most places do that first session without helmets. Plus it just gives you incentive to get out of the novice group.

Honestly, I was a bit leery about this at my first HPDE thinking that this guy is going to thrash my car. Really not a big deal. In fact, it was good because the instructor gave me pretty good feedback about my car...some good points and some potential improvements.

Sorry guys brakes and tires still not in, so cannot make it... really wanted to meet everyone!
Anyhow I have a AiM Solo demo unit available for M Club members so that we can expand our lap time database. You guys can figure out how to share. Does anyone want to bring it over to TWS? Franklin? |
