SYT- where's your DIY?

My '13 with ~50k is due for this job
What a shame you didn't see this earlier! If someone has a lift accessible we can always do the trip again!

Fortunately the DIY is fully documented!

Its gotta feel good knowing you did the work yourself. Having done my own rod bearings too ( I have access to a lift and a full shop, since i work there) I can say it feels rewarding. Congrats!

Chris here. Yes that was definitely a good day, I'm glad I got to sit in with you guys through this DIY. I think I need to start planning my own since I'm at 80k and original bearings! Maybe Trevor will be able to rent out some lift time haha and helping hand. Anyhow it was great meeting you guys! Have safe travels home!

Having so much fun with the beast since we re done with the bearings. Feeling like a brand new engine. Temperature is dropped to 65F down here for awhile. So you know car is running without waiting the Sunday at this time of the year

Nice!

Do you have the perception that the engine is running smoother? I know the motor mounts definately help, but im curious if rod bearing replacement has a noticeable effect on nvh.

I think Yes. It is alot smoother. I never heard my clutch rattling sound that clear since i own the car and i had experienced 1 time oil change during this period.

I still feel little shaky sometimes on the engine. But runs so smooth so far

Dang wish I saw this thread earlier, I'm in Miami and know of GarageYourself. I would've loved to hangout and see the process first hand and even lend a hand! I'm in the same shoes you were Sangria, I was considering having a reputable local shop (AA have a buddy who works sales there) do the job, but Trevor reached out to me and I decided I rather have him do it once I finish gathering all the parts lol. Really excited after seeing threads like this and SYT's amazing DIY!

Sorry for that buddy. Yeah Trevor is the best DIY Garage to me and no one can beat it He is really good too so you are good to go! It was the best DIY experience that I ever had so far. And it was amazing to see the engine is still in brand new condition after driven 39K Miles!

Good luck!
