The S65 is now a timeless motor that will be remembered just like the s54 was in the e46.
The N/A v8 that screams to 8300rpm is what made the "S" motor unique, now its an "S" motor that sounds like a basic 335i. Sure it may have 11 more hp and loads more tq w/ tuning capabilities, but I chose the S65 M3 because it had a unique engine that was incredibly fun to drive |

I honestly don't know another car that I feel is a great replacement for my M3. There's only a couple cars I have in mind that could replace my car and that is a 997 gt3 or a ferrari. A rari most likely not because I don't have that kind of money, but hopefully in a couple years the 997 will drop in price. Not going to lie. I would die for a 69 Camaro ss as well haha

I saw the M4 for the first time today, and I could have bought it today to be the first M4 owner in the world(?). I thought the M4 looked nice when I saw pics and videos on the internet, but seeing it in the flesh, I was amazed!! Such a beautiful car with very aggressive lines. I also didn't like the color in pics, but in person it's so deep and rich and unique. I would get the new M4 if the price wasn't that high in my country.

If performance is all we cared about than none of us would own the S65 M3 as there are plenty of cars that have better performance. GTR...Vette....etc etc.
On top of that, I believe that this car will only offer you minimal performance improvements. And what is the cost for this minimal improvement? ...Overpriced new car prices, much weaker looks and a horrible sounding fart can exhaust and engine. IMOP stick with the S65 ....buy a Vette when your ready to move on... Last edited by M3-S65; 06-03-2014 at 03:07 PM.. |

"BMW marketing revealed the LCI F8x M will bring the bmw active sound concept outside the cabin. People outside the car will be able to enjoy active sound played through electronic speakers too. The upgraded I-drive will offer different engine sounds to choose from and new sounds will be downloadable from the online store. Another bold innovation will be active smoke where white smoke will be released automatically from the rear of the car when a near wheel spin is detected. The dashboard instruments will also feature a so-called F instrument mode where RPM and speed can be slightly exaggerated so as to enhance the driver's excitement.
Now you can fool your eyes as well as your ears . F8x :Fake generation." Seriously, that's a laugh but if the M4 sounded at the minimum as good as a 335i and be an m4 for the rest I would still not exchange my E92 for it. If the LCI M4 sounded like the 335i and had the flowing limes of the E92, and they bumped the power to 480-500 i would still not exchange my E92 for it. Going through a mountain back road drive recently made me realize what matters is the fun factor the S65 V8 delivers continuously on public roads at near legal speeds, and not that the f8x could be faster in situations that you will only rarely experience. Next car most likely a Pcar or GT-R. Last edited by V8FunNaturally; 06-03-2014 at 04:32 PM.. |

I will if my car is crashed beyond repair and I can't find another suitable non-sunroof, non-nav, 6mt car. M3 is still the only choice if you want a new reasonably small manual 4 door 400+ hp car

I'm hanging on to my e92. I'm in love with this motor and still prefer the cleaner understated lines. It still excites me and that's all that matters to me.

Have purchased an extended warranty that based on my current will cover me for another three years (75,000 miles) on the M3. I don't find the new M3/M4 terrible but it's not something that has me wanting to make the trade. Maybe three years from now when the LCI version is introduced.... That or a P car!

I sold my C6 Z06 2 weeks ago for a 2011 M competition package. I have tons of goods on her now. I made the switch because of the exhaust note, fast and high revving v8, DCT, the body lines, did I mention the intoxicating sound of the v8!??? That new m3/m4 is a great looking car but sounds like crap, pure crap! Nothing that screams "I want more" or when your friends are in the S65 and everyone is silent because of that exhaust note...I am beyond happy with my purchase and the smile I have everytime I drive her

When the E92 M3 was rolled out, I was super excited. Not so much with the F8X. As mentioned, the F10 M5 just sound so blah. Really waiting to see it in person but I'm not making any effort to do so.

For me, cars are a means to an end. After 27 of them over the years, I just don't get too attached. As long as it excites me, I'm sticking with the V8. Loved the GT3 for a while, gotta say the E92 has been my favorite in certain categories, P-car in others.
I'm in with the V8 until I'm out...and I really love V8.
