Awesome. Guys, we are shooting for a tentative date of Jan. 16th. I am working on a location now, but it will be in the DC Metro area. Please continue to add your name to the list as you confirm.

Hello,

I have had my e46 M3 tuned by powerchip multiple times already and they are really good. I wanted to know more information. Will this be at a shop with a dyno? I maybe interested as I may get some RPI Scoops perhaps even headers and race cats and look for an update.

I would be arriving from the westcoast late on 1/15 so 1/16 maybe possible with a lot of coffee.

Best regards,

Loay

We are figuring out the exact location now and final dates now. Pricing is set though.

Still working out a location to get this done. I am trying to make sure we have a suitable location for all the cars, plus need internet and power source. I am also trying to have a dyno available to ones that want it.

****Powerchip Mid-Atlantic Group Buy****

Date: January 16th, Saturday - tentatively...

Software Changes:

15-40 Horsepower and 10-30 ft/lbs Torque gain throughout entire Rev Range
Removed Top Speed Limiter - now you can go past 155
Increased redline in gears three and up to 8450 RPM
Optimized Throttle response in normal, sport and sport plus modes
Increased shifting speed and smoothness for cars with DCT transmission
Optimized Throttle Body opening (does not open all the way from the factory)
Optimized Timing and Fueling Maps (high and low octane maps)
Smoother engine operation, and improved cold start operation
Reprogrammed torque management (** Some other tuners remove torque management completely. However, we believe that this is a factory safeguard and that these limits should never be removed but only raised to safe levels given your modifications).
Ability to remove check engine light for cars with no catalytic converters (off road use only)

We will be sending the flash tool to Ben335, and he is working on the location which will require internet (for us to send the tuned files over), and it's also good to have power because voltage should be kept constant during reading and programming of the ECU.

Price (tentative based on amount of cars):

Stage I is normally $990, group buy price is $800.
Stage II software is normally $1490, group buy price is $1140.

What distinguishes between Stage I and Stage II? If you have removed or changed your factory cats, your car qualifies for the Stage II flash. All other vehicles fall under the Stage I category tune.

Our tunes are custom dependent on your mods. Before programming your vehicle, we tailor the file that is uploaded to your car depending on your current modifications. We do not endorse "screen tunes" in which areas of maps (such as timing) are simply raised by selecting a portion of the code and increasing the numbers globally. Our tunes are dyno, street, and track proven. If you haven't heard about us please do a search and the reviews will speak for themselves.

Please contact me directly with any questions at 310-488-2418. We hope to have at least 8 cars in order to maintain the discounted rate. But I'm willing to work with you guys to make this happen so let's see who's ready for some more ponies!

Please see below a dyno chart of a car with Fabspeed HFC's before and after our tune. I will also be offering a combo deal with our tune + the fabspeed HFC's so if you are interested in that, please let me know in advance. With that setup plus the tune you can expect massive gains on this car - I've seen up to a 40 WHP gain with this setup. That's huge! The chart below that is on a car with no HFC's which still shows a very significant gain with our tune. You can see how after the stock car drops off on top that the tuned one keeps making more power.

Thanks, and again, please feel free to contact me at the number listed above or email me at mbenvo@gmail.com / mbenvo@powerchipgroup.com.

Let's start the new year with more power!

How worthwhile, if at all, would this be for a manual tranny with no performance mods?

Also, does the flash get overridden by BMW service? I assume it would be detected in any event and void the factory warranty?

You won't get the bigger gains like the guys that have more bolt ons and have done the fill exhaust work, but you still gain power and a lot more drivability.

The flash can get overwritten if BMW service reflashes your car. My stand on this is to be open with your SA and let him know that you have a tune on your car. That way, he will let you know before the car is flashed if there is a need. I think Powerchip would give you some courtesy reflashes if it does get rewritten.

In regards to warranty, there is no way to detect a tune if you don't change certain things. Don't take away your top speed governor, and don't change the redlines.

Completely worthwhile. The setup you are describing is what I run on my personal car (plus the crankshaft pulley). However, there are no changes to tuning parameters with the addition of a pulley.

Even on a stock car with absolutely nothing done to it, it's a night and day difference. With the addition of modifications the increases become more pronounced - particularly with changes to the cats.

The flash can be overwritten by BMW service, but this only happens when they come out with software updates to address certain issues. In the event that this happens, we can always reprogram our software back into bmw's new file.

The dealers will not know (unless you tell them), and can not see that the car has a software flash from us. The tune is completely transparent and looks just like the stock tune that came with the car.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. Thanks!

Location seems to be ISP Racing in Beltsville as of now, I am waiting for final confirmation now. There will be a Dyno available for those that want to use it for a fee. I will post all details as soon as I have them.

I want to gauge the interest in Dynoing. How many people would want to dyno their cars. There would be a cost for dynoing.

Secondly, if anyone would like to add the Fabspeed HFC and Xpipe or Air filters, Mike is offering package deals for these in conjunction with the flash.

As Ben mentioned, I will be offering specials on the Fabspeed HFC Setup in conjunction with the Stage II tune. The combination will yield 40+ whp, which is very significant. The gain is through the entire rev range - it's almost as if you are driving a different car with a different motor.

I also recommend that everyone getting the tune to also have an airfilter. If you do not have one yet, please let me or Ben know. Also if anyone is interested in pulleys please let me know. I will be sending a package with all of the parts requested over there before the flashing begins, so that way everyone can get their mods sorted.

Thanks,
Mike Benvo
