Mark,
Welcome to CA. They should still be doing the fireworks, try some really short exposures. I bet it's hot.
The Iowa is near Long Beach being prepared for its grand opening next month, so if you like battleships.

Quite cool here tonight. Low 60s, I'd say. Wasn't bad today. Warmish tomorrow, the upper 70s for the weekend. Should be good for walking around.

Wifey is here for the American Library Assoc (ALA) conference right next door. I'm here for....well, just to hang out, I guess. I'll get over to Disney once or twice and get some pics. Supposed to be fireworks here in a few minutes.

Low end stuff like Rebels don't count, but most lenses and other bodies, along with flashes, converters, printers, etc all count. I'm well into Gold Level membership. I doubt I'll go to Platinum even if I hit the mark. Gold membership is $100/yr (which include two free cleanings). Platinum is $500. Heavy discounts on repairs and quick turn-around.

Weebl, got any suggestions for San Francisco? I get in around 11am tomorrow morning and have the rest of the day free. Sunday afternoon and Tuesday/Wednesday will also be open.

hmmm...

Never even heard of it. Do I have to have all this stuff with warranty cards and receipts or something? Where do I look into it more?

Highly recommended:

http://www.cps.usa.canon.com/

The camera strap and two free cleanings at the Silver level make it pay for itself. The send some other neat kit also.

I think you just register with your SN of lenses and bodies. CPS will go from there and verify that they didn't fall off a truck somewhere.
and then you post your SSN on the forums to verify identity...

I hit the mark for Platinum but can't justify the $500 cost. Gold is sufficient!
