I guess when you own the dealership and have a chevy race team you get "Dibs"... Baseline pricing is not currently out but pricing will be almost identical to C6 Z06 pricing. Hendrick's dealerships don't tack on the extra $10-$15K for market demand pricing. Got to love car guys...Should not go above $90k all decked out. Will not be getting the Z07 package as it comes with the cup tires and the ultimate aero package. my buddy and I are headed to Arizona in April to do the 5 day SCCA driving and license class. Track days will be so fun. Fit and finish on the C7 is phenominal... this has never been the case for Corvette before.

Just read the Z06 is gonna be in the 3600-3700 pound range. That's up substantially from the last Z06, which was less than 3300 pounds.

Hendrick will end up buying the first Z06 at Barrett Jackson. He just bought the first Z28 last month for $650K

even 3500 is too much should be weighing in closer to 3100.

It will be less than 3400 which is around the C7 Z51 all loaded up. My guess is 3,300 but that is a guess.

3100 isn't realistic IMO unless they make it a stripper and a more dedicated track car which I don't think is the intention. If it laps the 'Ring under 7:10 I don't think people will care whether it is 3100, 3200, 3300 or even 3400lbs

I don't know who that is, but what a jackass. I think the Z28 is almost defunct at this point considering the performance specs of the new Z06, which won't cost much more.

I think your numbers are too optimistic.
C7 Z51 weight is 3,435 pounds. Add to that wide body, supercharger, bigger wheels/tires, spoiler, splitter, more cooling, more electronics.
Nothing was mentioned in GMs press release about CF fenders, so i assume they will be steel fenders.
I am afraid, we may be looking at 3.600 pounds or even more.
I hope i am wrong but it looks that way

Ha ha hah. He owns both Chevy/GM dealerships and the Nascar team that owns the cars for Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Dale Jr, etc. so he has a somewhat vested interest in what Chevy/GM does.

Maybe... my logic was the previous Z06 was fairly light and I was expecting... even with the wide body, etc... would be less than the standard car. At this point, who knows.

Also, GM is bumping that power up like never before. The rumor is, it will be over 650 HP. Are they trying to offset huge extra weight by adding that much power? We have to wait and see.

Extra weight is surely offset by even better suspension and design, coupled with an extra 150hp. My last Z weighed just over 3200 and had 540 at the wheels. I would imagine the new Z will do close to 600 at the wheels with more torque and much better suspension than I had with a marginal 200 pound increase. If the balance is as good or better, then the added weight will likely be a moot issue. Just my thoughts

The base Z51 is so good now, and has the aluminum frame, so there just aren't the places to take weight out of the Z06 once they add the heavier motor/wider rear end ect. The tq tube is now steel on the base Vette and that added 30 pounds to the car, so going to cf on the Z06 should drop 40 pounds (guess). I imagine the weight comparison from the Z51 to Z06 will be a similar ratio as a N/A e90 N52 to e90 M3.

If the car is gonna weigh that much I doubt 620hp is enough!

Except GM says the C7 Z06 lapped their test track FASTER than the ZR1 and the car is still in development. They expect to improve the time between now and final production and everyone was surprised at the time for a development car. It's a weight and see game

Pretty sure the z06 will weigh more than the base model for this gen. The c6 had a steel frame while the z06 got the aluminum frame. The base c7 already adopted the aluminum frame so no chance of weight loss there....cf fenders, and roof would be offset by the supercharger and larger motor

Looks like the c6 z06 will have at least a 400lb difference from c7z

Hendrick owns somewhere around 80 dealerships and sells just about every name plate. His BMW dealership has been #1 the last couple years in the US here in charlotte. We only buy from Hendrick dealers here in charlotte as their customer service is second to none... at least from what I experience.
