Get OEM Software & Hardware for Your 2009+ iDrive

We are excited to announce that the New BMW ConnectedDrive features are now available for most BMW models with the new iDrive (CIC) systems.

As many of us know, BMW made an announcement earlier this year that all new vehicles from March 2011 will come with the new feature called ConnectedDrive .

We received a lot of inquiries regarding this feature asking if we are able to offer it to those who don't have a 2011.5 production car.

It was a big and long project and we teamed up with Patrys@BimmerTech who has an extensive experience in programming and coding to get all of these new features available to our customers.

We are proud to announce that we finished the retrofit of the Combox, which gave us the ability to enable ConnectedDrive and the new BMW App (6NR) feature! The BMW App is free and can be downloaded to your phone from the App Store.

These are the features that will be available with the Combox retrofit and ConnectedDrive (6NR) :

Question: What happens if you have to get the dealer to do an iDrive software upgrade. Would this result in loosing the 6NR upgrade?

I am interested. I spoke with BMW and they say BMW apps cannot be installed do to the wiring needed for the video playback and plugin portion...PLEASE pm me details as I AM INTERESTED in getting this done!!

After contacting Patryk, it seems that it might be possible to install the required hardware myself, and then have him do the coding remotely. I'm trying to get a confirmation on this from Patryk and/or Aleks. Does anyone know if this is true?

I'm also unclear about the 6NR media features "over the USB cable". I think Patryk was trying to tell me that this is done over a different USB cable and not the white Apple sync cable. Can anyone, who has gotten Patryk's upgrade, clarify this and possibly provide a photo of the inside of their armrest showing the cable?
