His teachings said don't buy a $50K car? You can't do both?

So even if you have faith, a big heart, and help the poor and you still have some extra for car you still shouldn't get it? I'm sure this is not in the New Testament.

Christians are blessed. There is nothing wrong with having things and or being rich, as long as they are not ill-gotten. There alot of people today with ill-gotten money. Look at the corporations today, the CEOs taking from the workers, lie, cheat, to appease the shareholders and then take an oversize portion for themselves. Average CEO pay is 800 times the average worker, sorry, they are not that smart or important and I would be alittle worried if I were in their shoes. As far as what would Jesus drive, I think BMW is a smart choice, its a good car. I learned in life its better to spend more money on one good item then have to buy 5 of a lesser quality item.

Well... I never thought I would see a Thread like this on an Automobile site, however, I do believe that IF a BMW can be "common ground" between peoples of different faiths, then all the better.

After all.. isn't the point of religion to "love your fellow man", even while 'smoking' him from a standing stop at a traffic light?

<------complete Agnostic here. not to shit on anyone's beliefs, but being brought up in a catholic household, i have come to the conclusion that organized religion is the cause to 80% of the world's problems, and the other 20% use it as an excuse to mask real intent, but since you asked, i believe in evidence, possiblility and human creativity. in other words, Science, Philosophy and Art.
I wouldnt deface my car with such things, but if i were to, i would get one of these bumper stickers.

I hope it doesnt offend anyone...i just find it funny.

Christian here.

Catholic to be exact. Although I'm not really practicing. I only go to church on holidays. I find the older I get the more I become less of a fan or organized religion.

I have accepted Jesus as my Savior, know the frailty of my will, but also know I have only to ask for His forgiveness and all shall be wiped clean in the Book.
For auto-x, I see something more Old Testament invloving chariots.

No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path.

Nope - I am not Christian and am proud of it. Christians. Muslims and Jews are responsible for a lot of Blood being shed. "Love thy neighbour - as long as he/she belongs to your nano-sect" is what these Religions seem to be saying.

"Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the Children of God". I think that Buddhists are "the peacemakers".

I do not make any excuses for any of my actions and then ask acceptance afterwards. The Devil didn't make me do it, I really did feel like doing it. Nor do I condone or plan to harbour any child molestors. It's ok if you're different than me, I won't try to kill you. I don't care if you're married or have a "partner", the arguements are all the same. So you're ok with me. I won't try to convert you, just pay your taxes.

I'm not Christian, I like to sleep in on Sundays.

You are *exactly* right ... but no "Christians" actually follow the teachings ... it's too hard ... too inconvenient. It easiest to do as you please, claim faith, demand forgiveness, hate, "accept Jesus" and read Revelations.

Real Christians would buy a cheap, practical car and maximize their ability to help their brothers.

Christianity is actually a dead religion ... all we see these days is its rotten corpse. And like anything dead and decaying it can be dangerous to those who get too close.

wow, that's an in depth thought provoking question...

What difference does it make? None!!

What would be more interesting would be if you're Jewish and driving a BMW, and if you don't understand why that's an interesting question, it validates the stupidity of the original poll.

It seems to be too obvious what you are asking about a Jew driving a BMW (like Jerry Seinfeld), but that is TOO obvious. Such an obvious thing is uninteresting.

Being a Christian who is aware of what some Christians seem to think of BMW drivers, and considering the writings of some Christian leaders, the original poll is a good one with potential for interesting discussion.

If you are not a Christian, you likely would not understand without further explanation.
