2600 mile Road Rally in VF's Green M3
Disclosure: I am a writer for Auto Eclectic Magazine and a BMW nut. I thought I would share my epic journey of running the Gold Rush Rally in VF's Green M3 and a 2011 Cadillac CTS-V. Enjoy and if you like what you see we will have a full issue of the event soon at AutoEclectic.com
The rally is really only 1600 miles starting in Denver, CO then on to Salt Lake City, UT then Las Vegas, NV then Scottsdale, AZ and finally finishing in Newport Beach, CA. We are based in SoCal so we started the rally with a one day 1000 mile trek to Denver. We are currently in the middle but here are some pics for now:   The two beast all dolled up!  Morning of departure  Getting lined up for the Police escort out of downtown Denver. Co-Pilot rocking the baby face mask. The car was deemed Team Loaded Diaper....... Some of the other cars at the start:     Team Golden Empire getting interviewed   Somewhere in Colorado we all got stopped and were given a stern talking to by Park Rangers.  Road trophy! Our Lunch stop in CO. 2 hours down 10 to go till we would reach our stop for the night in Park City, UT   She'll be coming round the mountain, when she's blown! 620hp going strong at high alt!  The Dirty Girl the morning after. Time for the walk of shame to Las Vegas.....that usually is the other way around, walk of shame away from Vegas, oh well.  All lined up for day two.  ROAR!!!!       View from the Cosmopolitan Hotel in Vegas   Scottsdale Bound  Two of these Monsters joined the rally in AZ    LA Bound for the finally on a 3 story yatch  Another M3 running from AZ. Mogulaire.com Owner Eric Pestana  Exotic Abuse.........  A quick run in with a 458 proved the VF 620 is a monster and eats Italians for breakfast.  Team Loaded Diapers showing off for GR3  Champagne Party at the finish line. The Rally was a blast. The VF 620, or Green M3 as it is known ran flawlessly with Hoons behind the wheel for 7 days straight covering a total of over 3000 miles once we returned it. I am still sad we had to give it back, because it is the only car I know that can get attention while sitting next to an exotic. The sound and the speed combined with the look make you feel like Batman driving around town.......AWESOME. Hope you enjoyed the photos. Don't know if we had the chance to meet or not. We were in the AW E92 M3 with black graphics.... and LOUD Innotech exhaust.
 This was our third year doing gR, but we started in Vegas this time. I remember seeing the VF M3 when we arrived in Scottsdale that night, but never had the opportunity to roll with you on the last two stints. I did see the CTS-V on the way to LA though. We must have bumped elbows at some point during the last two nights of partying.... would probably recognize your face. The Hyperflesh masks were a LOT of fun the last night... even if the hotel staff didn't think so! HAHA |
