So this was a failed attempt at the lighted ZHP knob DIY as during the process I ended up drilling straight through the top. Whoops!! (Lesson learned: drill the hole starting from the top, not the bottom). I ended up buying a new knob and got it right the second time around so, in essence, this was my practice knob.

I did drill a second (proper) hole for running the wires, so if you're thinking about doing the DIY and wouldn't mind a small imperfection this may be for you.

Alternatively you could just glue the number pattern back on, and use it as an un-lighted knob.
