i feel bad for the officers. They were just trying to protect one of their own. Who knows if the guy is unconscious given the situation happened so quickly. This is the one time i think police brutality is okay given the video i just witnessed.

how do they know he was unconscious? last i checked, there wasn't a doctor or paramedic on scene. they are really just assuming that.

They are also not UFC fighters. Its unacceptable.

I think spike strips should not be used in their current form (3rd or 4th video I've seen where an officer is run down because of them).

Also the police force should be more disciplined. Hopefully the surge in revealing videos over the past few months will provoke something to be done about it.

This happened in 2008 and we are only seeing it now because the guy was unconscious and thought his injuries were a result of the crash. At his trial for hitting the officer was the first time he saw what actually happened.

Did he deserve a beating? Yes. Should he have actually gotten one? No. Unfortunately, these 5 officers are looking at more than simply being fired.

Man deserved the beating. If he didn't want his ass beat down then he shouldn't of thought about committing a crime.

Yea the cops maybe shouldn't have done it, but put yourself in their shoes. Seeing one of your own getting run over and almost killed would piss you off greatly.

There should be zero rights for someone who does something like that. If you take an intentional run at someone using a vehicle, police officer or not, you deserve to be shot and killed. No trial, no jail time, no waste of tax payer money. Your rights have been checked at the door and you deserve to be put down just as you would a dog or raccoon who is unable to not be a danger to society. There is no gray area or room for interpretation here. The guy's intent was clear and that should have been the end of it.
