Girl was stoned to death for falling in love... very disturbing

A teenage girl lies dead on the ground in a pool of her own blood. Her once groomed hair is cast across her face like a rag doll's, her skirt pulled up to complete her humiliation. In another image, she is seen lying on her side, her face battered and bloodied, barely recognizable.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1879

The murder was carried out in public, watched by hundreds of men cheering and yelling. Du'a's crime? To fall in love with a Sunni boy. Her family practiced the Yezidi religion.

That is just a very sad example of HUMAN nature. This has very little to do with Du'a's religious belief, that is just an excuse for the males there. And I bet there are some females around who would have dressed as men to see the spectacle. God save us from ourselves!!!!!

lol what kind of world we're living in... people have killed people since man was created... death is nothing new... it seems like your categorizing the murder as injust... when all death (in an humanistic view) is injust... in some cultures, tradition is highly prized... i overheard a person from my highschool who said her sister was leaving college to go back to india to get married... i was thinking oh, okay... but thats the culture.

what are you trying to say? theres no message in your post... are you saying this is wrong? its like saying IS ABORTION WRONG? There arent any wrong answers OR right answers... this is one of those chicken-egg problems that never have a concrete solution...

Its really disturbing to see that video. Coming from a muslim person, i am totally disgusted. Islam does not condone to such doings. Its the culture and backward way of punishing ppl who fall in love in love in the yesteryears of the arabic countries. It may have been abolished but i guess its still dominant in small villages and states. Nevertheless, these ppl should be shot at gunpoint. That is no way to treat a human life. In all faith, this world has become a place that even man have no control over. Its a malignant disease and the chain reaction cannot be stopped. I cant imagine how it can even take 100 of ppl to do this and make it public. its just barbaric. Put it this way, the yezidi religion as what they say is basically like Nazism. A self proclaimed religion using a true and defined religion as a direction. BS is what it is.

Have we really descended to the depths of moral relativism where the murder of a child is condoned because "it is their culture"?

That idea is almost as disturbing as the video.

Do you really want to talk about this? Tradition for them is tradition... from Western Civilzations we would see this as inhumane... but we're a different culture... your just too one sided to really evaluate the situation...

IMO sucks for the girl & I am sorry... but if that is what their culture demands (or their town)... then it is... the culture is not conventional, coming from an Americanized Chinese background but it is conventional for them... if you cant understand this... then your not thinking on both sides.

No, I really don't and cannot believe it is necessary to say that the cold blooded murder of this young girl is wrong. It is wrong regardless of tradition or culture. Civilization requires moral absolutes, this is one of them.

so it was wrong for the aztecs/incas to sacrafice people to appease the gods?

how can you even say civilization requires moral absolutes... MANKIND IS IMMORAL... civilization is a facade... MANKIND IS NOT CIVIL. mankind has never been pure and never will be... and all you can really do at this point is say oh what a shame they live in a backwards world"... lmao

only reason i seem on the other side is because theres no point in agreeing with you guys... i def think this is wrong but i would also accept it if it was part of their religious/cultural laws...

I was agreeing with you till that. I wouldnt go that far, I dont think you should ever be able to accept that regardless of the circumstances. The only thing culture and religion does is justifies there actions, it dont make them right by any means just gives a reason.
