1 Word: Tires... this is why all, for everyone who spends all their money on mods... and still runs around on street tires... are wasting your money if you plan to actually 'track' the car... Only change from 2010 to 2012 ZR1.... an option for 'Michelin Pilot Sport Cup Race tires'... Kudos to GM for stepping up, and knowing how to play the game!

The last time GM brought a Corvette ZR-1 to the Nurburgring (6/2008), the results were 7:26.4 Nissan then ran a 7:26.7 (4/2009) and failed to beat the ZR-1's time (when it was their definite goal to do so). The controversy, or shall I say rivalry began afterwards when ricer fans, video game geeks and nice folks like you couldn't accept it that their beloved GT-R couldn't beat a GM. (kind of like what your almost doing now )

It is not the camera angle, he is very harsh which seems to be somewhat necessary around the ring. But what is not necessary is his stabbing at the throttle, spinning the tires is no big deal but when he has to come all the way out of the throttle because he was too aggressive hurts the time severely.

Frankly, I would expect a ZR1 to beat a GTR and have always been astonished how close the times have been. So you're totally clueless as to what I can "accept". The ZR1 is a beast and there's no denying it. But its flat out bizarre that you would insinuate a one off 7:19 ends a rivally between the two on the 'ring. The 2012 GTR ran a 7:24 in wet conditions and it doesn't seem like too much of a stretch that they could rival the ZR1 time.

Yes it is a great rivalry but I have always been under the impression that Nissan was aiming at the 997 Turbo not the ZR1. As I have said before I am astounded that the GTR is even in the same ball bark as a car that has 110 bhp more and weighs 500lbs less.
