Track Gear on...

Got the bra on today.
The wheels are the APEX 18" 9.5" front wtih a 12mm spacer, and 10.5" rear with NT05 265/35-18 front and 285/35-18 rears over 380mm StopTech ST60 front rotors. I have the original 9.5" wheels where spacers are optional. The newer ones are made specifically for the E9x M3.

Using wheel guide pins was key to getting the wheels over the brakes safely without scratching anything.

Colgan is in fountain valley if I'm not mistaken, you can have them fill reflector holes the same way that the license is filled. They did that work for me with an e46M3 bra that I had converted for a CSL a bumper.

Bra is for the trip up to Monterey and some "spirited driving" on Monday. Then some more in Fontana on Friday if nothing breaks.
Thanks for the tip on Calgon being in Irvine and being able to fill the holes. The license hole is just some extra vinyl they sent me. I'm just going to tape it down for now. Did you just bring it in, or was there someone you called to arrange for this?

I don't worry about sand getting under it. It's not going to happen in the 10 days it's staying on. But it will prevent and sand, bugs, rocks, chunks of rubber from hitting the front of my car. It was on in less than 20 minutes for my first time; it'll be on in 10-15 minutes the next time. I used to spend at LEAST an hour taping up the car, and I used 12" wide contact paper for most of the tape job. That 2" painter's tape would take forever.

Unlike others here, I don't worry about "the look" as much as how things perform.

It's a valid question. There's a difference between doing a functional "mod" that serves a purpose vs. letting the front of the car get messed up on a road trip or with "spirited driving." Particularly if one needs to sell the car at some point.

I think it was around $160. They sent some extra vinyl for the license plate opening. It was another 2 week wait for one without it.
I figured it saves me at least an hour of time, and about $15-20 each time in tape or shelving paper. I'll still put some on the headlights and mirrors.

This is my windshield after the drive down. It was cleaned when I tanked up after driving a hour. This is 5 hours later.


Here's the bra after the drive up, at Laguna Seca, and the drive down.


I think I like "the look" if it saves the front of my car.
There's "clear" shelving paper on the lights and mirrors too. At least it was clear when I put it on.

Washed it off today. Pretty nasty but they came off easily. The bugs stuck on the windshield more than the bra.
The shelving paper on the lights worked great.
