Typo - thanks
![]() Just wanted to give an update of what I started working on yesterday - Working on changing the angel eye brightness with the headlights on, and with the headlights off. It's much more complicated than the other coding, but if it works it would be really cool to make them brighter, and not dim with the headlights on! I will keep everyone posted. I have been so busy with work... Thanks everyone and stay tuned! Mike Benvo

Thread on DVD in motion for 09-11.5 Models.
Many customers have let me know that other coders are having difficulty removing the corner LED on 2011.5 cars. I'm pleased to say that I can take care of that as well! http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=514626

Newbie here, but I had a question for Mike@Powerchips. SInce no codes will work on my 07 328i's i-drive for DVD playback, could you help with a recommendation? I've seen/read about a few PNP Mods for video playback on the CCC i-Drive (before '09). Is there on you recommend/have seen that you prefer? I'm out in Kansas City, so I'd have to order one & have it installed or do it myself. Any input would be great.....

Satisfied customer...
I have recently had the pleasure of having Mike Benvo code my car, and it was well worth it. I facilitated a group buy in Florida in the regional section because I wanted some custom options on my 2010 M3 that I thought would be unique and useful. It took a month to gather enough people together and worked out exactly as promised. I can honestly recommend Mike for any BMW coding needs, he is a true professional and a very talented person. Thanks again Mike...

Another satisfied customer
Thanks to Mike Benvo for coding my car remotely. Everything works like a charm. Also, thanks to STORM3 for organizing the group buy and driving over to Boca from Naples.
I can't recommend Mike's coding more strongly - quality service from a quality guy. |

Thanks J. I'll hit you up next time I'm over that way, we'll have to get a Primanti's sandwich and a beer. Glad everything worked out, your car is super nice. Let me know if you have any questions about future mods, maybe I can help.

Hi Mike,
I have just read through this post, very interesting stuff. I was wondering what coding options are available for the stereo system. I would like to change the head unit output from speaker level to line level. Also, would be great to have line level out for the front channel, and speaker level out for the rear. And also to see what other settings can be changed. This is in relation to an 08 135i but I assume its all pretty similar. How many people would you need for a group buy to fly to Australia LOL? I dont understand why it cant be done remotely, i'd be willing to pay you to do it over a remote connection. |

If you want better sound than the basic stereo system, I'd recommend the Alpine hifi retrofit kit from BMW. It takes about a day fitting it since you need to pull a wiring harness from the HU to the car boot, an that requires removing a lot of interior trim parts, including seats and doorboards. But the result is absolutely worth it. |

There are a whole ton of audio settings and I haven't really started to analyze them considering I'm perfectly happy with my Enhanced Premium Sound.
But if anyone is interested in a one-off setup with aftermarket equipment, feel free to PM or email me and I can figure it out. In the next couple weeks I will be starting coding group buys considering the remote coding kit I put together was a great success in two States, Michigan and Florida. If you are interested in a coding group buy in your area, please contact me. I just received the remote flashing kit back from Florida, so it is ready to go out again. I won't have time until this weekend to PM people to gauge interest. Thank you to stega, storm3, and jcaptain for being so easy to work with and for following through with the first "test" group buy for the new remote coding laptop. Let the remote coding begin! ![]() A pic of the kit:

Some other cool welcome light coding I did yesterday:
Also for 2009-2012 cars, linking your iphone up completely to your iDrive and using is basically as a combox unit will be available soon!

Will you have Bluetooth coding?
Looking for something where you can use you phone's music play (I have an android phone) and have your car speakers play it. |

That requires Combox and an iDrive software update. The 2011.5 cars can already do that.

You will most likely need the combox as well as the programming for it to enable that. I believe that feature is called A2DP streaming, I can enable the feature in your CIC unit but it may not work without the combox. I will try on my friends 2011 X6 within the next week and see what happens.

Mike - do you have the capability of setting the MDM (M Button) to be automatically on when the car starts. This would be the default mode and hitting the steering wheel button would toggle it off etc... The M Dynamic Mode is great. Don't know about the other guys here, but I love the extra throttle response and drive this way almost all of the time. It's just an absolute pain the ass to always have to switch that thing on. Let me know what you think.

In the case of the E39 M5 and the E46 M3, the sport button memory was a byte in the DME that had to be changed. It's possible that in this car it could be in one of the modules. I will try to take a look over the next couple of weeks and see if I can change that. If it turns out to be in the DME, I'll have the Powerchip engineers take a look into it as well. As far as options, the key dependant memory (not your M button settings) allows you to pick normal/comfort/sport for edc and normal/power for the throttle response. It does not allow you to choose sport plus by default, and it also doesn't let you choose any defualt traction control settings (such as MDM), or the steering stiffness setting. For me, I would like the car to turn on in MDM mode and with the steering tighter. I'll be working on how to enable this functionality in the near future when I have time to go digging through the code. I've been meaning to update the coding list and post of videos for a while also. Sorry for the delay ![]()
