As with all our products we have a strong emphasis on safety, and so rather than redesigning the wheel, we decided to use the same style device we have been using to tune our customers vehicles for years without issues. With updated software, the evolve-R is incredibly easy to use, safe and offers a simple and affordable way of delivering our renowned ECU files to your vehicle. Includes update to 240E.

How it works:
1. Install the supplied software on your laptop (Windows XP/Vista/7)
2. Connect the cable to your OBD-II port and read your ECU into a file.
3. Email us the file
4. We tune the file, email it back and you use the evolve-R to load back into your vehicle.

You can replace your original/tune file at will, and of course if you add modifications in the future, you use the same process to load on the new file we send you.

Created with extensive research and testing the M3 ECU upgrade transforms power and drivability of the V8 engine. Developed with 100's of hours of dyno testing, datalogging and endurance testing we deliver 15-20hp/10lbft torque on a stock vehicle while retaining maximum safety margins.
Through careful remapping of the factory BMW DME tables, various elements such as ignition timing, fuel delivery, VANOS position and part throttles are reworked to create performance gains.

We also rework the torque calculations correctly to give consistent power.
The latest version of our ECU flash has been thoroughly developed and gives an actual gain in performance rather than just a quoted figure.

The result is an M3 that feels far sharper and pulls harder through the rev band, especially over 4500rpm.

Software versions for cars with center exhausts / x-pipes are also fully developed as can be seen by the lower graphs.

We only advertise our average figures based on the numerous runs we do in our in-house dyno. You will not find any glory run figures from us.

Yes it was, we had a really good day... I wish my car didnt have the issues that we had otherwise I could have easily hit 200mph.
What we thought was a cracked front bush, ended up being a huge bulge on the inner part of the rear tyre causing heavy vibration at 80 mph plus

BIG TIME!!! I also found a huge screw throught the centre of the tyre

Just to testify about how incredible this tune and flashing process is, I am the one who wrote the E46 M3 review that Paul linked above.

It was a great pleasure working with Evolve. They remotely live tuned my car across the world using the evolve-R cable and the dyno location of my choice. Everyone at Evolve was a pleasure to work with! The dyno operator who was working with me in Chicago was very impressed with how simple it was to load/unload the different tunes on my cars, as well as how they fast they were with making beneficial tweaks to my tune.

I am definitely looking forward to trying this tune on our E90 M3...I just gotta finish a few more things on my E46 M3

I highly recommend the evolve-R tune. There is nothing else out there on the market like this, especially for the price they're offering.

I'll answer that one...

Yep, I 'think' we are one of the only companies to be able to remotely tune all ECU's on the M3.

If the dealer updates the software in the car and overwrites the tune, can you use the cable to reload the tune? Will the dealer updates for whatever they updated still hold or will it revert back to the older version?

Absolutely, that's exactly what it is used for. We have access to all the latest software revisions and our tunes will work on the very latest software.
If BMW update the software and with further password encryption, its never taken us long to bypass it on these ECU's.

No charge at all for whichever tune you require. When you email us your file, you simply let us know your modifications and we tune the file appropriately. I think I forgot to mention its also free shipping. And if we update the file in the future, those are also freely distributed.

For custom work, there is no need for custom dyno tuning unless you have mods that we've never tuned for. The ECU adapts within a given range. Its only when you do something drastic that we've never seen would you need to get on a dyno and tweak the settings. Even so, we can do that, and its something we could discuss at the time (usually around $100/hr custom work).

Interested.....Just want to clarify that if the tune is removed and the original stock file is put back on that the dealer/bmw would never know? Is it impossible for them to see that the ECU was changed at some point??? My concern is if warranty work is needed and they check if the ECU has been altered.
