Carbotech XP-12's

Holy shit these things are hard! I just mounted a new set and bedded them yesterday...wow! I will use them tomorrow at LRP, but these things feel very hard, and I haven't made anything wail that loud in years!

Any other users? Do I need to do more bedding before using? They need a tight squeeze on the street compared to performance friction PFC-01s and Hawk DTC-70s.

I used them on the E92 M3. They are pretty solid pads, and I liked them. They are significantly harder on the rotors compared to the XP10 though. People claim they are harder to modulate, but I didn't have any issues with that at LRP. If you already bed them in, I don't see why you would need to do it again.

I suppose I am making sure (through the medium of the internet!) that everything is okay...and earn doofus point s in the process.

I did a few 30-5's, then about 10 60-5's and 3-4 70+ - 5 and then tooled around at low speed. The rotors have a blue tint, I figured I am done, but with the hardness, I wanted to see if I needed more reps.

No matter how many times I switch the brakes, I always worry until I hit the first corner... I don't want to smell asparagus!

Follow up to the thread. The pads needed a session to fully bed. Unfortunately this coincided with a very aggressive intermediate 2 group!

Once they were bedded these were great pads and did not fade. I still need confidence in myself and the pads, but these felt really strong all day after session 1. They still squeal like a bitch though!

I just bought another set of fronts, so these are the frist track pads I have bought a second set of, so I guess that is some kind of stamp of approval!
(Others: PFC-01 (would use again) and DTC-70s.

I'm surprised you went with the XP-12. I ran the XP-10 on my former CTS-V and it's probably similar in weight. Thge XP-10 worked great and were easy on the rotors. Talk to Danny Puskar, if you haven't, at Carbotech about which pad. I swear by Carbotech pads.
